Simon Cowell has become the first celebrity to be surprised by Sir Trevor McDonald just hours after an announcement that ITV entertainment show, This Is Your Life, would be returning to our screens.

Sir Trevor jetted out to the States to surprise Cowell live on the American Idol final. The episode with Simon and his friends and family will be filmed this Sunday.
