Simon Fuller, the man behind The Spice Girls and S Club 7 wants to remake the popular 1960’s TV show, The Monkees.

The talent serach has already kicked off in the States and the producers are holding auditions in California in a bid to find four ’surfer type dudes’ to become the new Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, according to reports in The Sun.

A show source said: “This will be The Monkees for the Gossip Girl generation and a lot more raunchy.

“We are looking for some charismatic lads who are up for a bit of mischief. The show will be much grittier than the original with more sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.”

Here’s a look at The Monkees most famous song, ‘Daydream Believer’ and you know what, after listening to this feel good number maybe Simon has hit on a good idea after all! He may need to update the dance moves though.
