ITV challenges stars to Sing If You Can in a brand new prime time entertainment series
ITV has commissioned RDF Television to make a brand new entertainment series, SING IF YOU CAN, in which some of Britain’s most popular celebrities will be challenged to perform in extreme and hilarious circumstances.
Hosted by VERNON KAY, every episode will see two celebrity teams trying to deliver the best performances of modern hits and classic crowd-pleasers whilst taking on extraordinary challenges designed to distract them.
Vernon will be joined by the current Queen of the Jungle STACEY SOLOMON to unleash an abundance of thrilling and comical challenges that will test the stars as never before.
Can celebrities hold their nerve whilst delivering a song from a specially-designed erupting volcano? Or singing a solo on a wire above the stage that randomly drops throughout the performance? Or even whilst having their chest waxed?!
Sing If You Can also offers viewers a chance to see celebrities well and truly out of their comfort zone. During the series, King of Swing Ray Quinn will make his debut as a rapper …whilst some very unlikely names will take on the might of Lady GaGa…
Each episode will feature a celebrity judging panel, casting an irreverent eye over proceedings. Ultimately though it will be the studio audience that decides which team goes through to the end game and stakes are high as one celebrity from the losing team will be plunged into a giant water tank.
In the end game, the winning team can win money for the show’s nominated charity – Teenage Cancer Trust. The final song is performed on a giant turntable that spins faster faster – the longer the team can keep their balance, the more they win for charity.
Some of the country’s most popular TV and music stars will appear on the show and face the ultimate music challenge. They include actress Brigitte Nielsen, Boyzone’s Mikey Graham, X Factor’s Jedward, former England cricketer Darren Gough, singer Chesney Hawkes, Hollyoaks Gemma Merna, sports presenter and former England rugby player Martin Bayfield, singer and actor Ray Quinn, dancer Brendan Cole, presenter Craig Doyle, singer Camilla Kerslake, Loose Women’s Lisa Maxwell, singer Jonathan Ansell, actor Ben Richards, singer Toyah, actress Sian Reeves, stage star Jodie Prenger, actress Roxanne Pallett, singer Sinitta, actor Ricky Groves, ex footballer and pundit Rodney Marsh, entertainer Shaun Williamson, actress Tricia Penrose, singer Brenda Edwards, former Steps star Faye Tozer and singer Michelle Gayle.
