You don’t have to sing it well; you just have to sing it right.
A trio of top radio presenters are on board for Sing it Back: Lyric Champion 2007 a new entertainment series on ITV1.
Paul Gambaccini will be joined by JK and Joel in a search for the person who knows song lyrics backwards, forwards and any other way you choose.
Paul will be the adjudicator, and he will have the final say on any quibbles from the contestants, although JK & Joel are bound to have their say as well.
In this competition it’s how accurately you fill in the missing lyrics that count, it’s not how you sing, but what you sing.
There will be lots of tension, surprises and laughs in store as our contestants compete to sing in the musical blanks.

Just finished wathcing tonights show (14th July) and thought it was unfair that Sam went thru co she blatently got an entire line wrong. She was asked to sing the line to Tiffanys I think we’re alone now and the section of the song that was played was “RUNNING JUST AS FAST AS WE CAN, HOLDING ONTO ONE ANOTHERS HAND, TRYING TO GET AWAY INTO THE NIGHT” the line that should have been sung was “AND THEN YOU PUT YOURE ARMS AROUND ME AND WE TUMBLE TO THE GROUND AND THEN WE SAY” What Sam actually burst out singin was “RUNNING JUST AS FAST AS WE CAN” the line which had already played, was blatently wrong and therefore unfair to Kelly who should have still been in with a (albeit small) chance of continuing.

Debbi… Well done for pointing that out, obviously everybody on the show including the judge and other contestants missed it, thank God you were watching…
The whole point of the last round is to sing the line that is before the one that is played! So Sam did get it right!!
I’m gutted I missed tonight’s show!! Does anyone know if it’s repeated at all in the week?
all i can say is that some of the tasks where so difficult. so well done to the winner nathan (who i must say is quite good looking) you did really well and i was cheering you on all the way through! x

Just listened to wish I was a punk rocker, and in the chorus, she does not sing in 77 and 69, she misses the in after the first verse, so what a fix was saturdays final!!!
Mind you, they were all a million times better than I could do!!
