Sky To Launch ‘Sky Real Lives’ For Women
BskyB have announced that they will be launching a brand new TV channel, aimed at older women. Human interest and reality TV shows will be well represented in the programming scehdule.
Sky Real Lives will replace Sky Travel when it launches later this autumn and Sky’s Barbara Gibbon said: “There is a huge appetite for real life stories that engage the full range of emotions for our viewers.”
BSkyB entertainment boss Sophie Turner Laing said: “This initiative is driven by customer demand and fits our ambition to offer the best content in every genre, whether entertainment, film, arts, news and now human interest.
“I am confident that Sky Real Lives will add significant value to the Sky platform.”
The new channel’s target audience is women aged 35 to 54.
Shows will include Vain Men, a documentary about young males trying to achieve the body beautiful, and Baby Race, tracking single women in their mid to late 30s as they try to conceive.
