Soccer Aid 2010 is offering football fans a once in a lifetime chance to see one of the games’ all time greats Zinedine Zidane put his boots back on to take to the hallowed turf of Old Trafford.

The French footballing hero will return to Manchester for the first time since 2003 when Real Madrid dramatically knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League. Zidane will join Soccer Aid’s Rest of The World team alongside an impressive line up of legends and celebrities.

UNICEF ambassador Robbie Williams comments on Zidane; “I can’t believe he’s playing, I’m over the moon. I won’t know whether to shake his hand or lick his face.”

Zidane has been awarded the prestigious World Player of the Year three times, was part of France’s World Cup winning team in 1998 and won the UEFA European Football Championship in 2000 and 2002 UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid.

He will be part of Soccer Aid’s star studded line up which includes Robbie Williams, comic genius James Corden, world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay, GMTV presenter Ben Shephard, actor and TV presenter Bradley Walsh, presenter and DJ Jamie Theakston, comedian Patrick Kielty, boxing hero Ricky Hatton, Irish supergroup Westlife, actor Damian Lewis and cricketing legend Brian Lara alongside footballing heroes Alan Shearer, David Seaman, Teddy Sheringham, Jamie Redknapp and Henrik Larsson with more high-profile names to be announced.

Soccer Aid, the brainchild of Robbie Williams and UNICEF UK, will be kicking off on Sunday 6th June at Manchester’s legendary Old Trafford stadium and broadcast live on ITV1. Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and celebrities from England and the Rest of the World will take on one another in an electrifying football match all in aid of UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation.
