Fresh from the creator of smash hit series The Shield, comes the critically acclaimed Sons of Anarchy, a fast-paced, dark and sharply written drama already causing waves in the US, and which is about to make its exclusive debut in the UK exclusively on Bravo this summer.
This immensely dark, adrenaline-pumped production injected with underlying tones of sinister comedy, follows a notorious outlaw motorcycle gang who will do everything in their power to protect their small Californian town – Charming, from encroaching drug-dealers, greedy corporate hands and overzealous law enforcers. Alongside this, the biking chapter, who call themselves the Sons of Anarchy, are intent on guarding their thriving business of illegal arms dealing and will ruthlessly fulfil any duty required by the close-knit brotherhood in order to defend it.
Starring hot British actor Charlie Hunnam, (Green Street, Cold Mountain, Queer as Folk) as the male lead alongside Golden Globe-winning actor Ron Perlman, (Hellboy, Enemy At The Gates) and a strong female cast led by Katey Sagal (The Shield, Married with Children) and Drea De Matteo (The Sopranos), this gritty, action-packed and realistic drama has won praise in the US for its accurate portrayal of biker gangs and its attempt to demystify them.
Brit Charlie Hunnam stars as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller, a man whose love for the brotherhood is tested by his growing apprehension for its lawlessness. Katey Sagal stars as Gemma Teller Morrow, Jax’s force-of-nature mother and matriarch of the chapter, who along with Ron Perlman as Clarence ‘Clay’ Morrow, Jax’s stepfather and MC president, have their own darker vision for the club.
The series, which has aired on cable channel FX in the US, has already been re-commissioned for a second season, while the first series premiered in autumn 2008 averaging 5.3m weekly viewers. It has been FX’s most successful series among adults 18-49 since Rescue Me, outperforming even established drama The Shield.
