Sport Relief is well and truly back for 2014 in a evening packed with entertainment and sports biggest names.
Not only that but X Factor winners opened the night with the official Sport Relief Single. Kylie Minogue has just performed with Jason Donavan as have Boyzone – well, they didn’t perform with Jason!
Boyzone, one of the biggest boy bands in the world have been around since (would you believe) 1993 and tonight, live from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London performed ‘Everything I Own’.
Their performance tonight hopes to encourage you to donate to Sport Relief 2014 which is hosted by a variety of big names including Davina McCall and Gary Lineker.
Throughout the night viewers (you guys!) will see various video packages including one from Cheryl Cole where she talks about malaria a condition she fought fairly recently.
Radio DJ’s have also been taking part in fundraising activities with BBC Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley completing a 26-hour session on a treadmill.
Coldplay donated to the DJ’s efforts a staggering £260k with a tweet from the band reading: “Massive respect to the incredible, indegafatible @jowhiley #10K per hour makes #260K sponsorship from us.”
Nick Grimshaw also took part in a fundraiser of his own when on Monday he completed a 12-hour bike ride after he and various famous faces cycled more than 1,000 miles and raised more than £115,000.
You can donate to the fundraiser on the official Sport Relief website or by picking up the phone and calling 03457 910 910.
Remember, your money isn’t just helping those countries in need abroad, you could be helping someone living in your street that you didn’t know needed that help!
If you’re not convinced yet and we’re trying, check out the official website to see where your money will be going!
