STEPHEN FRY BACK IN NORFOLK FOR KINGDOM SERIES 3

Stephen Fry returns to Norfolk to make a third series of ITV1’s ratings winning series Kingdom.

He is joined by Hermione Norris, Karl Davies, Celia Imrie, Tony Slattery, Phyllida Law, John Thomson and a host of prestigious guest stars, including June Whitfield, Peter Sallis, Sandi Toksvig, Jaye Griffiths and Anna Massey.

Filming has just begun on locations in Norfolk on the six part drama which follows the fortunes of Stephen Fry’s character, Peter Kingdom, an affable country solicitor in the picturesque Norfolk town of Market Shipborough.

Hermione Norris stars as Peter’s troublesome and flirty sister Beatrice (Spooks, Wire in the Blood, Cold Feet) who wants to rediscover her sexuality after becoming a mum.

Karl Davies (Dead Clever, Dolphins, Emmerdale) returns as newly qualified solicitor, Lyle Anderson, who is keen to make his mark in the practice.

Celia Imrie (The Last Detective, Commander, Calendar Girls) stars as Gloria Millington, the faithful receptionist and Peter’s confidant, who is having a terrible time with her demanding, elderly father. Phyllida Law (Pinochet in Suburbia, The Waiting Room, Monarch of the Glen) plays Peter’s dotty Aunt Auriel, and Tony Slattery (Confessions of a Diary Secretary, Ahead of the Class) plays cantankerous villager Sidney Snell.

John Thomson, a guest star in the last series, returns as a regular cast member, playing Nigel, a relationship counsellor who is presented with an odd challenge from a group of nuns.

Life in Market Shipborough is never dull for Peter Kingdom and Lyle Anderson as they seek to resolve the legal issues the locals bring them. In the new series they deal with the problems of crop circles, try to help a war victim’s bid for compensation, and encounter animal liberationists at work.

The series, created by Simon Wheeler, and written by Alan Whiting (Wire in the Blood, Down to Earth, The Scarlet Pimpernel) Jeff Povey (EastEnders, Blue Murder, Wire in the Blood) and Guy Burt (Wire in the Blood, Diamond Geezer, Ghostboat).

Executive producer Simon Wheeler says: “We’re really pleased to be back in Norfolk this summer. There are so many stories for the Kingdom family and beyond that we can’t wait to tell! “

    Hi there,
This series was released as a promotion by the Telegraph newspaper. If you look on ebay you will find some sets of dvd which you can buy - I thoroughly recommend it. I’m now trying to get hold of series 3!
