Actor and Twitter fan, Stephen Fry, has revealed “the most beautiful” Twitter message at the Hay Festival in Wales.

It seems that the festival’s organisers asked Twitterers to send in a message of no more than 140 characters to be judged, “the most beautiful Tweet.”

They added that the Tweet could be, “The most eloquent, the most evocative or the best pun.”

Stephen, whose own Twitter page has 1.5 million followers, declared a message from Marc MacKenzie from Edmonton in Canada to be the winner.

The Tweet read, “I believe we can build a better world! Of course, it’ll take a whole lot of rock, water & dirt. Also, not sure where to put it.”

And within minutes of leaving the stage at the festival, Stephen wrote on Twitter, “Just finished Hay event.

“Nearly 2 hrs on stage. Went in a flash. Now on way back to london.

“No time to stop and sign sadly.”
