Stephen Fry & Zooey Deschanel star in Bones Season Five

by Lisa McGarry

Bones, Sky1’s darkly amusing hit crime drama starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel welcomes back fan favourite Stephen Fry in his guest role of Dr. Gordan Wyatt on Thursday 19th November at 9pm in “The Dwarf in the Dirt”. And it’s a real sister act this Christmas as Zooey Deschanel joins her sister Emily on-screen for the very first time, on Thursday 17th December at 9pm in “The Goop on the Girl”.

Created by Hart Hanson and inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and best-selling novelist Kathy Reichs, BONES follows forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan (Deschanel) and FBI Agent Seeley Booth’s (Boreanaz) work at the Jeffersonian institute solving crimes when the bodies are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed that only the victim’s bones can provide clues to their fate.

In “The Dwarf in the Dirt”, Booth is still suffering some lingering effects from his brain surgery and has to get re-certified for FBI marksmanship. Unfortunately he’s not the accurate shot he was before going under the knife and seeks help from Dr.Gordan Wyatt (Fry) at his new restaurant. Meanwhile Booth and Brennan investigate the death of a little person who was a former wrestling star. “The Dwarf in the Dirt” will premiere on Sky1 HD and Sky1 on Thursday 19th November at 9pm.

And a special holiday-themed episode welcomes Emily Deschanel’s sister Zooey to Bones for the very first time in “The Goop on the Girl”. In this first-ever on-screen pairing of the Deschanel sisters, Zooey Deschanel (Days of Summer, All the Real Girls, Elf, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) plays Margaret Whitesell, a distant relative of Brennan. When Brennan’s father, Max Keenan (guest star Ryan O’Neal), makes contact with Margaret, he invites her to spend Christmas with him and his daughter. Meanwhile, Brennan and Booth investigate the death of a man dressed as Santa Claus who was blown up after a botched bank robbery. “The Goop on the Girl” will premiere on Sky1 HD and Sky1 on Thursday 17th December 2009 at 9pm.
