Twenty years after A Brief History of Time became an unlikely global bestseller, Professor Stephen Hawking takes viewers on a journey through the universe to explore the mysteries of physics, and looks at how far our understanding of the universe has developed.

The series explores how Professor Hawking overcame a life-threatening diagnosis to become the most famous physicist alive and, alongside other leading cosmologists, he introduces scientific ideas that weren’t even imagined two decades ago. The first programme charts Hawking’s quest for a “Theory of Everything”.
