Chart-topping 90’s Pop band reunites to discuss their acrimonious split in four-part series on Sky Living HD from Wednesdy 28th September 2011 at 9pm.

Former 90’s chart sensation take their first steps towards a reunion as Sky Living bring the band together to air their differences and finally heal the rift that their bitter and unexpected split back in 2001 caused.

Capturing the group as they recount their experiences whilst in Steps, the sentimental, nostalgic and often fiery encounters will bring to light many new revelations of how the band really felt during their glory years.

STEPS REUNION is set to bring tears and dramatic confrontation before the past can truly put behind them and a re-launch on the charts considered…

In the first episode of the series, as the band prepare for their first reconciliation meeting, they each reveal how their lives have moved on since the split and talk about their unresolved grievances from their days in the spotlight.

Speaking about the infamous resignation, H claims that “my only regret is that it ended like it did. But if I were to revisit it and turn the clock back, I would probably have done it exactly the same way” whilst Lee voices a different opinion – “They took something away from three people that we loved to do and we didn’t get a choice because certain people took that choice away from us and I think that is very unfair”.

Claire admits she felt her vocal skills were the demise of her relationship with the other girls claiming that “I remember somebody saying ‘why is she singing the lead vocal – why is it Claire?’ and from that moment it was not good” and another source of tension that comes to light includes H’s relationship with then manager, Tim Byrne which even threatened the strong bond between H and Claire.

Despite keeping it a secret from everyone except Claire for over two years, Claire eventually spilt the beans to the rest of the band who felt betrayed and uneasy about the revelation, and accusations of favouritism soon began to emerge causing further rifts and tension amongst the group.

With all these memories bought to the forefront the group prepare for their explosive reconciliation meeting where Faye, Lisa and Lee finally confront H and Claire about their reasons to resign before their final gig in Manchester in 2001 and the group attempt to work towards rebuilding both personal and working relationships.

As the series progresses and the air begins to clear, viewers will follow their attempts to put their differences behind them and start to relive the happier memories as they head back into the dance studio to remember those iconic routines and look through the stacks of memorabilia that they have built up over the years.

But ten years on and with five separate and different lifestyles established will they be able to repair the damage and give Steps fans the nostalgic send-off that they have always wanted? Will airing their grievances be enough to put the ghosts to rest and or will there be a second dramatic break-up for the band?

Steps was commissioned by Mark Sammon, Head of Factual Entertainment, Sky and produced by ITV Studios. The series is Executive Produced by Ed Taylor & Phil Mount for ITV Studios and Sadia Butt for Sky Living. Series producer is Kevin Lane.
