Sue Johnston, who plays Sal in Jam & Jerusalem, has told Reveal magazine that, even though her character is soon to have a new “love interest”, she won’t be starring in any sex scenes.

Sue, who’s 65 said, “I’m no Helen Mirren” and added that TV “frolicking” should be left to younger people.

“It’s much better to show frolicking youngsters making love – no one wants to see wrinklies at it. Like in real life, it should be done behind closed doors…

Sue added, “It’s great that TV shows are featuring relationships between older couples, but I think it’s best to handle them in a more dignified way.

“It would be undignified to see people of a certain age frolicking on TV.

“It shouldn’t be shown. And anyway, you have to have a body like Helen Mirren to get away with it – and, unfortunately, I’m no Helen Mirren!”

Well, maybe not Sue, but you don’t look 65 either!
