And this is why I have a problem with so called TV ‘Supernannies’ like Jo Frost.
How can anyone know what it is like to have children or discipline children when they have never experienced it for themselves.
When I first found out I was pregnant, I thought I knew it all. I was almost nineteen when my youngest brother was born, I had done the baby thing before. But as any mum will tell you, it is so different when you can’t hand them back at the end of the day!
Channel 4 Supernanny Jo Frost has announced today that she may not have a child of her own at all as her work schedule has become too hectic.
Speaking to Closer magazine, the child minder says: “It’s relentless – so there’s no time for a relationship in my life. At the moment it’s work, work, work! I’m never in one place for more than two weeks. Right now I’m not feeling broody. Who knows if I’ll have children or not?”
I’m not knocking some of Jo’s methods, the naughty stair does work. But if I was one of the mums on her show, I would much rather be helped along by someone who had been in my shoes, and had some empathy for my situation! Not Jo the dictator!
