Survivors Back For Series 2
Survivors, Adrian Hodges’ (Ruby In The Smoke, Shadow In The North, Charles II and Primeval) post-apocalyptic character-based adventure series for BBC One produced by BBC Drama Production has been recommissioned for a second series it was announced today.
The drama, with a series average of 5.9 million viewers and 23.1% audience share, has been given the green light for another six episodes to broadcast next year.
The final episode in the current run will broadcast on Tuesday 23 December on BBC One at 9.00pm.
Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning: “I am delighted Survivors will be returning in 2009 with Adrian Hodges at the helm – it’s been a thrilling and emotional journey, and I look forward to more twists and turns in series two.”
The cast list for series one includes (in alphabetical order): Robyn Addison (The Street; Casualty); Nikki Amuka–Bird (No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency; Five Days); Max Beesley (Hotel Babylon); Julie Graham (William And Mary; Bonekickers); Paterson Joseph (Jekyll; The Beach; Peep Show); Phillip Rhys (24; Nip Tuck; Flatland); Zoe Tapper (Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky; The Last Van Helsing); and young newcomer Chahak Patel.
Jay Hunt, Controller, BBC One, adds: “Survivors felt slick and strangely timely in this autumn’s schedule. I look forward to its return in 2009.”

I love this show, i was completely disappointed in the final episode! THe ending was awful, BUT i know that it was left open on purpose because it is coming back for another series.
I hope it stays as good with the same cast, and that Anya doesnt hook up with Tom lol

Really enjoyed watching this series and cannot wait for the next one!! Watched the original but so long ago it hasn’t spoilt watching the remake. Great actors and plot. How long do we have to wait – with only 6 episodes per series it will fly by.
Hooked I was. More real than “Lost” and suchlike, with great production.
I DO want Anya and Tom to hook up. I want them to get some guns and take self defence a bit more seriously!
Great news there is to be a Series 2.
Go on BBC, have a bit of faith and go for a 10 episode Series 3.
Great series loved every episode have to agree 6 episodes feels a little short but as Kevin says.. I’ve just gained faith in my tv license again
brilliant show. the final 10 minutes was very gripping, but cut a little short at the end. would loved to have seen what finally happened to greg. looking forward to the next series.
cant wait for new series, I just watched all 6 episodes in one evening after being recommended it thru a friend. Was soo gutted when it finished~! grateful there is going to be a series 2!dont take too long, pls~!

Brilliant but in reality they’d have headed straight for the nearest Airport and picked up the rifles and pistols off the dead Security Guards then gone back and kicked arse ! When does Series 2 start??

I was the guy on the horse at the end of episode 6 >)at the time of filming it wasn’t known if there would be a ’series 2′ or not.Still,it would have been nice not to have been blurred out lol lol…….I guess they’ll have some famous name playingmy part?!……..aaaaahhhhh well……c’est la vie

It was good I liked the idea of the virus and starting all over again think of the fun you could have London as your play ground and any car to cruise in and no more bills,keep the same cast max played a great role!
