E! Entertainment has reported that Susan Sarandon is to join George Clooney for his return to US medical drama, ER.

Susan and George are said to have begun filming their scenes on the set of the NBC show in Los Angeles last week.

George rose to fame on ER in the nineties as Dr Doug Ross and has since moved on to make some serious Hollywood blockbusters! After much speculation Clooney agreed to return to the show for its final episode which airs on April 2.

“He was charming,” said one ER crew member. “Everyone had a great time with George and he told some great stories about the old days. He really enjoyed himself and was glad he did it.”
