If you’re an Avicii fan who was looking forward to seeing the Swedish DJ and producer live on stage, then unfortunately this might not be the news you were hoping for this morning.
It’s been reported that the star has been forced to cancel all his scheduled shows due to continued pain and discomfort resulting from surgeries he had earlier in the year.
The news of the cancelled shows was confirmed last night (September the 8th) after Avicii, real name Tim Berlinger posted a statement online for all his fans to see.
On the day that was also his 25th birthday he was forced to explain to his fans that he was now planning on going home to Stockholm, Sweden to rest up.
In the statement Avicii explained: “At Night Management has tabled all touring and promotional activities for Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, until further notice…”
Giving a reason why they added: “so that he can fully recuperate from lingering health issues related to surgeries that removed his gail bladder and appendix earlier this year,”
The statement went on to say that Avicii is now resting at home so he can return to full health before he releases new material next year.
If you remember, the chart-topper was in hospital back in March and at the last minute had to cancel his performance at the Ultra Music Festival.
A number of headline performances were also missed as he was forced to recover from gall bladder and appendix surgery and now it sounds like he’s struggled to recover while performing.
This now means that later this month he will no longer appear at Tomorrow World in Atlanta in the US and will miss his Las Vegas residence shows at XS and Encore Beach Club.
His tour of Asia, set for October will also now no longer go ahead until he and his management are happy he’s able to get back on the road.
