Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that the finale of the current series will be the most powerful and emotional we have seen to date.
“The most I can tell you about it is that it’s not going to end because someone cuts two wires and the clock on the bomb stops,” the Sutherland told www.parade.com.
“It is going to end with some of the characters going through a very difficult emotional dilemma which will be much more dramatic than a big action sequence. I believe that it’s the most powerful important ending that we’ve ever had to a season.”
Jon Cassar has quit as executive producer on hit US TV show 24 after six years in the role.
Cassar told Entertainment Weekly that he will not b involved in the shows eighth series which begins shooting this May.

Kiefer Sutherland has admitted that he hates having to say goodbye to cast members as they are repeatedly killed off on his US TV show, 24.
“One of the hardest things about shooting 24 is that I work with some amazing actors and pretty much everybody gets killed,” Sutherland told The Hollywood Reporter. “So you get used to working with people you develop an unbelievable relationship with – not only professionally but personally as well – and then their characters die.”
The clock is ticking for 24’s most anticipated season yet
It’s been two years since the last day of 24 dawned, but Jack Bauer is finally back in what promises to be the most adrenaline filled day of 24 yet. The long hiatus due to the 2007 writer’s strike has led to feverish levels of anticipation for the return of Jack and the ticking clock, and after the two-hour prequel 24: REDEMPTION, it’s time for 24 to return for good. Celebrating it’s milestone 150th episode in the fourth hour, 24 will again prove to be 24 hours of unmissable television when the series returns to Sky1 and Sky1 HD in mid January 2009.
Keifer Sutherland has revealed that he believes a movei version of his hit show, 24, is at least two years away from happening.
MSN quote Sutherland as saying:
“It is hard enough to write the show,” he says. “So we all agreed that for the writers and their sanity, we wouldn’t approach doing a film without them, so we would wait until the show is finished. And then we would do a film. I think it’s a couple of years off.”
24 star, Kiefer Sutherland has admitted that driving under the influence of alcohol was “so stupid!” and admits to being very angry with himself over his actions.
“People make mistakes. I never lied about it being a mistake and I had to go through what I had to go through for it,” Sutherland told The Times. “I was incredibly cross with myself for it. It was careless and I wasn’t thinking. Hopefully that’s behind me and I’m moving on. I’ve never had a traffic accident in my life, but if I did in that situation and I had hurt someone, well, your life is over. It was so stupid.” Read more & comment »
In January 2009 the wait will be over. 24 is back with its seventh season and to kick-start its return, Sky1 and Sky1 HD are exclusively screening a two-hour real-time prequel to Day 7, 24: REDEMPTION.
In the final hours of Day 6, Jack Bauer (Golden Globe® and Emmy® winner Kiefer Sutherland) was a soul in turmoil, and has since been moving from place to place to try and find peace. 24: REDEMPTION picks up with Jack now lying low in the African town of Sangala with soldier-turned-humanitarian Carl Benton (BAFTA winner and Emmy® nominee Robert Carlyle, The Full Monty, Flood). Carl, a former Special Forces operative, has turned his back on his old life to start a school that provides child war victims with a safe haven. However, Jack’s hopes of settling are short lived, as he finds himself caught up in a coup d’état against a powerful African warlord (Tony Todd, Candyman) that spirals out of control. The folks over at Movieweb.com managed to catch up with Jack Bauer’s latest nemesis, Tony Todd at last weekends Comic Con and this is what the man had to say about series 7 of the show.
US drama, 24 is to move on four years when it returns for its seventh series.
The New York Post reports that Chloe O’Brien, who was in the early stages of pregnancy during the last series, will now have a four year old son.
A spokesman from producer Fox said: “We’ve always built in significant passages of time between seasons of 24 for dramatic purposes. Luckily, like all great iconic characters, Jack Bauer is ageless.”
24 star, Keifer Sutherland will be released from prison this Monday.
The actor is serving a 48 day sentence for driving under the influence of alchohol whilst on probation from a similar offence in 2004.
Prison officer John Balian told People magazine that the actor had been a model inmate, saying: “Throughout his stay, he never griped, never complained. He never wanted preferential treatment from the get go, and we respect him for that.”
After going to all the effort of a massive world premiere of 24’s seventh season in New York’s Time Square, bosses behind the show may have to scrap the whole series due to the current US writers strike.
Fox announced on Wednesday that the new season won’t commence until it can air uninterrupted.
“The viewers have told us that this is a show that needs to be digested with minimal, if any, interruptions,” said Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman.
The show could conceivably start later in the spring, should the strike be resolved, however, the delay could mean that 24 will miss the year entirely and shift its seventh cycle to the 2008-09 TV season.
