Last night saw the 13th annual British Soap Awards, and all the stars braved the wind and rain to take their seats for the spectacular event, held at the ITV studios in London, where UnrealityTV were on the red carpet to speak to them all before the ceremony started.

The EastEnders cast were surprisingly sparse when it came to the red carpet event, especially when compared to the huge Emmerdale crew that showed up en masse, but we managed to catch up with some of the Walford residents to clear up some old rumours and get some new gossip!

In forthcoming episodes of EastEnders, we’ll see Yusef Khan’s (Ace Bhatti) sinister secret finally come out…
He was the one who started a fire and trapped Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) in a house in Pakistan years ago.
She had long suspected it was him, but he had previously denied it, claming instead that he’d tried to rescue her. However, when his cousin Tariq (Antony Bunsee) turns up in Walford, he threatens to make it public knowledge that the fire was down to Yusef.
Yusef offers Tariq a worthless bribe to keep quiet, saying he can have the Argee Bargee after he and Zainab are married, but when Tariq learns it actually belongs to Afia (Meryl Fernandes) and Tam (Himesh Patel) he reveals the truth to a horrified Afia… Read more & comment »

Horror of horrors! Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) is about to accept wicked doctor Yusef Khan’s (Ace Bhatti) marriage proposal!
However, when Yusef’s cousin Tariq (Antony Bunsee) hears the news, he turns up in Walford intent on causing trouble…
Tariq knows that it was Yusef who trapped Zainab in a blazing house in Pakistan years ago, and he’s not afraid to use that revelation to get what he wants as he tells Yusef that the family will disown him if he weds Zainab again.
So, forced to resort to blackmail, Yusef offers Tariq a bribe. He tells him that if he keeps the news of his and Zainab’s forthcoming marriage to himself, he can have the Argee Bargee restaurant in the Square… Read more & comment »

It’s been reported today that wicked medic Yusef Khan (Ace Bhatti) is set to become the worst baddie soap has ever seen as he turns violent in his attempts to control Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia).
The Daily Star states that not only will Yusef beat Zainab, he’ll also kidnap her little son Kamil and use him as “a tool” to get Zainab to do whatever he wants her to.
The paper adds, “He warns her that if she doesn’t do as he says she will not see her son again.”
The horrific turns of events leads up to a dramatic climax at Christmas when Yusef reportedly tries to murder his love rival Masood (Nitin Ganatra).
It’s been speculated – mostly by me – that Yusef will set the fire that ravages the B&B, and in which Masood and Zainab’s son Tamwar will become trapped and suffer terrible burns.
As to the fate of Yusef, it’s been reported that he is expected to die in the fire, as could Pat Evans… Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Nina Wadia, who of course plays Zainab Masood, has hinted that her character may end up falling for, and choosing to be with, evil schemer Doctor Yusef Khan rather than her loyal husband Masood.
As fans of the show will know, Zainab and Masood (Nitin Ganatra) have been apart for months, ever since Yusef – who’s played Ace Bhatti (whose real forename is Ahsen, Ace is a nickname) – began meddling in their lives and manipulating Zainab.
He even made her believe she had tried to commit suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping pills, when in fact, Yusef put crushed up tablets in her food.
His latest scheme has backfired though, because in recent episodes, Masood uncovered Yusef’s dastardly plot to make Syed (Marc Elliott) believe he wasn’t baby Yasmin’s father… Read more & comment »

As viewers of EastEnders will know, Doctor Yusef Khan (Ace Bhatti) is a baddie. He’s badder than… a bad thing, and has spent months manipulating and scheming to get his ex-wife Zainab Masood back…
But why does he want her back so badly? Is it just so he can get back what was once his? Or does he genuinely love Zainab – who’s played by Nina Wadia – and wants to be a good husband to her?
I’m inclined to believe it’s the former reason, and like a frustrated angler, he wants the one that got away. Other fish in the sea will not do.
So far, he’s managed to split Zainab and Mas (Nitin Ganatra) up, make everyone believe that Zainab was trying to kill herself with an overdose – after getting her hooked on sedatives in the first place – and he’s meddling with Amira (Preeya Kalidas) and Syed’s (Marc Elliott) fragile truce.
However, if a recent rumour is to be believed, nasty Yusef is to be killed in a fire at the B&B at Christmas, but whatever his ultimate fate, Nina Wadia reckons there’s worse to come from Yusef yet… Read more & comment »

It’s been reported today that Pat Evans – who is of course played by Pam St Clement – will die alone of cancer at Christmas.
It had previously been reported that the earring wearing Walford regular would die in a fire at the B&B, however, The Sun states that it will in fact be evil Doctor Yusef Khan (Ace Bhatti) who dies in the blaze.
But getting back to how Pat will exit the Square, it seems that she’s about to learn that she has terminal cancer. She’ll keep the news a secret from her nearest and dearest, but will organize a big party for all her friends and family, as her way of saying goodbye to them all.
It will be a proper reunion, with her sons, David and Simon Wicks – who are played by Michael French and Nick Berry – will return to Walford for the party, and Ricky and Bianca, who are played by Sid Owen and Patsy Palmer, will also be there.
At the party, Pat will tell everyone her tragic secret, but will then slip away quietly as she begins to feel unwell… Read more & comment »
October 19th, 2011 by TV Writer Lynn. Tags: Ace Bhatti, amira masood, dr yusef khan, Eastenders, Preeya Kalidas

EastEnders star Preeya Kalidas has revealed that when evil schemer Dr Yusef Khan begins a nasty rumour about Amira, he may have met his dastardly match in the form of her character.
The plotline begins when, still meddling and manipulating everyone around him, Yusef (Ace Bhatti) tells Christian Clarke (John Partridge) that Amira may be lying about Syed being baby Yasmin’s dad.
So, Christian suggests to Syed (Marc Elliott) that he should order a DNA test to prove one way or the other who is the baby’s father. Read more & comment »

In a forthcoming episode of EastEnders, we’ll see Walford baddie Dr Yusef Khan crushing tablets into Zainab Masood’s food, causing her to overdose on sleeping pills.
However, Ace Bhatti, who plays Yusef, has told Soaplife that his character isn’t looking to kill Zainab (Nina Wadia), but he does want to “control” her.
Speaking to Soaplife, Ace said, “He doesn’t want Zainab to die, but he doesn’t want anybody to know he’s been giving her drugs.
“He’s playing with her. He has feelings for her, but his idea of love is slightly different to most people’s.” Read more & comment »

Dr Yusef Khan is Walford’s big bad villain right now, but that hasn’t stopped women swooning over him, much to Ace Bhatti’s surprise!
Ace of course plays the manipulative GP, and he told the Sunday Mirror that his heartthrob status is a novel one.
He said, “It’s a great compliment, but a complete surprise,” he says.
“Maybe women love the character, but if they get to know me they find I’m not smooth, I’m not sophisticated and I don’t drive flash cars.
“I prefer trainers and jeans to smart suits.”
However, the role of the scheming medic is one that Ace is loving, and starring on such a high profile show has been his ambition since he started out in acting as a teenager.
But life wasn’t always as easy as it is right now for Ace… Read more & comment »

Ace Bhatti has admitted that he is often criticised for playing evil Dr Yusef Khan on Eastenders.
The 41 year old actor plays Zainab Masood’s ex husband on the BBC soap and since he turned up in Walford late last year, he has managed to almost tear her marriage to Masood apart.
Bhatti told Inside Soap that he often gets stopped in the street by viewers who think he’s a ‘bad man.’
