EastEnders

In recent weeks, we’ve seen Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) becoming determined to open a new restaurant on the Square, despite vehement opposition from his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) who’s convinced that the stress of starting up a new business could push her father back to the brink of a nervous breakdown…

However, Ian has simply carried on quietly setting his new venture up, and has rented what used to be The Emporium’s premises and in next week’s episodes, he has builders lined up ready to start work turning the space into a trendy eatery… Read more & comment »

EastEnders

The drama begins when Ian confides in Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) that despite the fact his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) has vetoed the idea of him opening a restaurant, he wants to go ahead with the plan to rent the space used by the Emporium to open the new venture. The comedic drama begins on Wednesday, March 6th when Denise (Diane Parish) goes to see Ian (Adam Woodyatt) to thank him for having a chat with housebound Patrick (Rudolph Walker).

Speaking to Inside Soap, Diane – who’s starred on the show since 2006 – said, “I didn’t see this coming at all!

“When the bosses first told me, I think there must have been some tumbleweed and a few crickets chirping – my reaction was like, ‘Eh?’

“But then I was overjoyed because Adam Woodyatt [who plays Ian] is one of the best actors in the show.

“He knows his character inside out, yet he’s always willing to try something new.” Read more & comment »

As fans of EastEnders will know, Ian Beale suffered a nervous breakdown following the end of his relationship with former stripper Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) and after running up huge amounts of debt…

And in May of last year, on what should have been Ian and Mandy’s wedding day, after Mandy ditched him, we saw Ian wandering away from the Square wearing just his dressing gown and slippers.

He then went missing and only returned to Walford after Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) spotted him at a shelter for the homeless during the summer and he went to stay with the Branning family while they broke the news to his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) that he was back.

But of course, Ian was almost unrecognizable with overgrown hair and a beard, and he was – at the time – almost catatonic. Read more & comment »

EastEnders: The identity of Kat Moon’s lover will be revealed on Sept 14th & will Ian Beale crack yet again? (VIDEO)

Fans of EastEnders may be pleased to hear that in the episode which airs on September 14th, we’re finally going to discover the identity of the man who’s at the heart of the great Who’s Bonking Kat Moon? mystery, even though that storyline has somewhat petered out of late…

However, one of the remaining potential candidates, Max, Jack and Derek Branning and Michael Moon – Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) was ruled out a couple of weeks ago – will be exposed as Kat’s lover.

As we’ve reported previously, Jack (Scott Maslen) is the viewers’ fave to turn out to be the phantom Kat diddler, and Derek (Jamie Foreman) is considered the most unlikely, so I guess that leaves just Michael (Steve John Shepherd) and Max (Jake Wood) in the running.

However, given that EastEnders’ writers threw up a curve ball on a previous whodunit – that is, having Darren Miller turn out to be baby George Trott’s dad – I’m not sure I’m ready to discount Derek entirely… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Max, Tanya and Alfie bring Ian Beale back to the Square when they find him sleeping rough! (PICTURES)

Coming up on EastEnders a week on Thursday, Max, Tanya and Alfie are going to be shocked to find Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) sleeping rough on the streets of London…

Ian of course went missing after his fiancé Mandy Salter cruelly dumped him on what should have been their wedding day, which was just days after Ian’s brother Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) confessed to Ian that he’d murdered Heather Trott.

And of course, with bills and debts piling up, and on the verge of losing everything, Ian simply walked away from the Square, and he hasn’t been seen since.

That is until Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) spots him while she’s doing volunteer work at a homeless shelter, and she immediately alerts her mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) and dad Max (Jake Wood) who enlist Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) into hunting Ian down… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Ian Beale’s back, and he looks scary!

EastEnder Ian Beale is headed back to Walford, having gone AWOL – wearing pyjamas, a dressing gown and slippers – after his fiancé Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) ditched him on what should have been their wedding day.

Since he went walkabout, his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) has been holding the Beale fort, and has been taking care of young Bobby…

However, when an overwhelmed Lucy finally admits that she can’t cope, she and friends Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) tell Lauren’s dad Max (Jake Wood) the truth of the situation, which is that Lucy has no idea where her dad is, or even if he’s alive.

So, Max organises a group of the Square’s residents to start looking for Ian at homeless shelters and soup kitchens, and it turns out his instincts about where Ian might be were correct because it will transpire that he’s been dossing with tramps and alcoholics while living on the streets… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Joey Branning and Lucy Beale to become “the Square’s hottest couple” & the hunt is on for Ian

As we reported earlier, David Witts is about to make his debut appearance on EastEnders, and he’s going to prove that the old adage that states ‘like father like son’ applies to his character Joey Branning, who is of course the son of Derek Branning, who’s played by Jamie Foreman.

However, though Joey’s intentions are originally only to make his sister Alice (Jasmyn Banks) distance herself from their career criminal dad, after he meets Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) a romance is set to begin.

And today’s TV Biz describes the relationship that’s to ensue between Joey and Lucy as one of the “hottest” Albert Square has ever seen.

The paper adds that the show’s bosses are hoping the new romance will have viewers as enthralled as the love affair between Sharon Watts and Grant Mitchell did… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Ian Beale’s back and he’s been living with tramps! Can Sharon sort him out?

As fans of EastEnders will know, the last time we saw Ian Beale was shortly after his fiancé Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) yet again ditched him on their wedding day, but this time, she left for good.

Once Mandy had gone, and with all Ian’s other troubles – including being broke and having heard his brother Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) confess to having murdered Heather Trott – causing him to have a nervous breakdown, he was last seen shuffling along next to a busy road in his pyjamas and slippers.

However, he’s set to return to Walford this summer, but when he does, he’ll be almost unrecognizable according to a show insider who broke the news of Ian’s return to the Daily Star.

Of Ian – who is of course played by Adam Woodyatt – and his shocking return, the insider said, “Ian is unrecognisable. He’s dishevelled, has long hair and a long beard. He looks like a proper tramp… Read more & comment »
