Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson can’t believe that she has been shortlisted for Sexiest Female at this year’s British Soap Awards, as she has admitted that her appearance is not her main priority since having a baby!

The actress, whose character Alicia Gallagher spent a recent stint in prison whilst Anderson was on maternity leave last year giving birth to her fist baby, Freddie now nine months old, is up against Hollyoaks star  Jorgie Porter who plays Theresa McQueen, EastEnders Jacquline Jossa who plays Lauren Branning and Coronation Street’s Georgie May Foote who plays Katy Armstrong and current title holder Michelle Keegan, Corrie’s Tina McIntyre.

David Metcalfe is of course currently engaged to gorgeous barmaid Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade), however, he’s been secretly harbouring his growing feelings for Alicia Gallagher, who, as viewers will know, has been in love with David for months…

So when Priya dumps David (Matthew Wolfenden) this week, on the advice of his dad Eric (Chris Chittell) David jumps at the chance to tell Alicia how he feels about her, and it looks like they’re set for a real romance.

Jacob is of course – unbeknownst to him – Leyla’s, not Alicia’s son, but as Leyla didn’t want to keep the baby, and her sister Alicia was desperate for a child, the decision about Jacob’s future was an easy one and he’s always believed Leyla was simply his aunt.

Fans of Emmerdale will know that ever since Alicia Gallagher (Natalie Anderson) returned to the village after her stint in prison, David Metcalfe has – finally – realised that he does in fact have feelings for her…

Emmerdale shopkeeper David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) is of course somewhat reluctantly engaged to gorgeous barmaid Priya Sharma, having ditched his former wife-of-convenience, Alicia Gallagher…

However, in episodes of the soap which will air next week, a plot twist will once again see Alicia (Natalie Anderson) donning a bridal gown and standing next to David as his wife – sort of!

There’s romantic drama in the lives of some of our Dales residents next week, which begins when Katie Macey (Sammy Winward) moves out of Home Farm, telling hubby Declan that their marriage is over, while Alicia Gallagher learns that as the new wedding events manager, she has to play David and Priya’s big day!

Starting with Katie and Declan’s woes, their relationship has of course been under strain for weeks, but in the episode that airs on Monday, February 11th, we’ll see that Katie’s staying with her ex, Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) until she finds something more permanent.

However, not unreasonably, Declan (Jason Merrells) isn’t chuffed about the arrangement, and neither is Andy’s girlfriend Kerry (Laura Norton) but when Andy goes to Home Farm to pick up some of Katie’s things, Declan’s anger reaches new levels… Read more & comment »

There’s love and romance – some of it ‘bad romance’ – in the air for the residents of Emmerdale this month as it’s been revealed that not only will Alicia Gallagher land herself a new man, but also that Debbie Dingle is still in love with her former boyfriend Cameron Murray, who has of course just proposed to his lover – and Debbie’s aunt – Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Beginning with who’s set to woo Alicia, while speaking to OK! magazine, Natalie Anderson – who of course plays lovelorn Alicia – refused to reveal the identity of her character’s new and would-be suitor.

She said, “[It's] someone in the village, and I can’t say who! But she is pursued by this person – in a very nice way.

“She’s not sure about her feelings, but the attention is nice, and of course it will be fascinating to see how David reacts to that!” Read more & comment »

In last week’s episodes of Emmerdale, we saw Debbie Dingle vowing to do whatever – and whoever it would seem, given that she slept with biker Dom – it takes to corner the courier business in the area…

And she of course roped in her mum Charity (Emma Atkins) and her reluctant dad Cain (Jeff Hordley) to get the company that Dom (Wil Johnson) works for closed down by police after she learned that they regularly transport illegal drugs.

But next week, we’ll see that even though the company has closed after the police raided their offices, that’s not enough for driven Debbie, who tells Charity that she intends to use keys she obtained from Dom to go to the company’s premises and steal their client list!

Coming up next week on Emmerdale, things go from bad to worse for Alicia Gallagher as not only is she struggling to cope with her angry son Jacob – he is of course devastated that his mum and David Metcalfe have split up – but she’s also having trouble containing her jealousy towards Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) who is of course dating David.

So it’s little surprise then that Alicia (Natalie Anderson) decides it would be best if she and Jacob moved out of David’s (Matthew Wolfenden) and into a place of their own, but in the episode that airs on January 17th, she’s set to find that it’s not that easy to find somewhere to rent on her wages from The Woolpack.

And in fact, she could find herself out of a job too when Rishi (Bhasker Patel) has to intervene in a row between Alicia and Priya as they antagonize each other behind the bar! Read more & comment »

As we reported yesterday, little Jacob Gallagher is going to be left distraught when he realizes that his step-dad David Metcalfe is in a relationship with barmaid Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) because of course, even since his mum Alicia told him that she and David were over, Jacob’s been hoping they’d get back together…

But when he spots David and Priya kissing, he knows that’s unlikely to happen, and David has to face up to what he’s been dreading most; telling Jacob the truth that in fact, he was never in love with Alicia (Natalie Anderson) and that they only married so that he could have custody of the little boy while his mum was in prison.
