Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has revealed that his character, Rob Donovan, is about to be given a second chance at working at the factory by his sister Carla, however, as Rob sees himself in a position that’s somewhat higher than being Carla’s whipping boy, whether he’ll accept, or continue trying to ruin Carla’s business, remains to be seen.
As fans will recall, Rob cooked the books at the factory in order to have a broker assess the worth of the business at far less than its real market value, and he then nicked one of Carla’s (Alison King) clients, taking a hefty order from her in the process.
During an interview with Soaplife about the storyline, Marc began by explaining how his character felt when Carla turned up in Weatherfield again after originally leaving to live in America.
He said, “Carla’s arrival [was] a shock more than anything because only a couple of weeks previously she announced she was leaving Weatherfield again for good.” Read more & comment »

As fans of Corrie will know, the relationship between Peter Barlow and Carla Connor is on increasingly shaky ground, and when Peter (Chris Gascoyne) once again turns to booze to drown his sorrows, Carla will be horrified when he “turns on her.”
Peter’s affair with Carla was of course the catalyst for the breakdown of his marriage to Leanne (Jane Danson) who now has custody of Peter’s son Simon (Alex Bain) after the little boy made it clear he’d rather live with her than with his dad and Carla.
But as Peter sinks further and further into the mire of self pity, he’ll take the view that everything that’s gone wrong in his life is because of Carla, and in a moment of madness, he will lure Simon away from Leanne and attempt to leave the country with him.
But would Carla stop him from taking such drastic action, or would she help him in a bid to repair their fractured relationship? Read more & comment »

There have been rumours flying round for months that Coronation Street were looking to cast a new hunk for the street as they introduced Carla Connor’s (Alison King) brother, with the name linked to the job on most people’s lips being that of Kym Marsh‘s (who plays Michelle Connor) fiancée, Jamie Lomas.
Lomas even auditioned for the part and, at the time, a source close to the couple commented that they were excited at the thought of working with each other, but it would seem that he didnt fit the bill, or perhaps Marsh just changed her mind after the recent allegations that Lomas had been cheating on her, as it has now been announced that Marc Baylis has been cast to play the devilishly handsome bad boy, Rob Donovan.
