Ever since Barbara Windsor announced that she would be leaving Eastenders, the nation has wondered if the Beeb will take the leap and kill off Peggy Micthell. However sources close to Windsor have suggested that Barbara intends to return to the show at a later date and has asked producers to consider this when writing her exit plot.
A source close to the star told The Sun: “Barbara has such a fondness for Peggy that she genuinely wants to play her again.
“She doesn’t want the character killed off. Producers understand that.”

EastEnders star Barbara Windsor has told the Press Association that she’s “still coming to terms” with the fact that her co-star and on-screen husband, Larry Lamb, will be leaving the show.
Larry, who of course plays villain and all round bad ‘un, Archie Mitchell, recently returned to the show after three months absence, but EastEnders bosses have confirmed that he won’t be staying long term.

We told you recently that fame hungry Boris Johnson was making an appearance on BBC soap Eastenders, but his scene didn’t go quite as planned.
Boris will appear in a scene with Peggy Mitchell and went in to film his part last week.
Barbara Windsor, who plays Peggy, told The Mirror: “Boris said to me, ‘I think I know my lines,’ but we got a little bit of comedy accidentally.

Barbara Windsor has resisted attempts made by Eastenders bosses to sex up her character Peggy Mitchell.
The News Of The World reports that script writers had written some very risqué scenes for Peggy and Archie Mitchel, but Barbara Windsor refused to take part.
“Viewers don’t want to see a woman my age kissing and being intimate,” Windsor said.

The Mayor of London, Borsi Johnson is to make a cameo appearance on BBC’s Eastenders.
Aspart of Peggy Mitchell’s quest for local government, Boris shows up in the Queen Vic for a scene with the gorgeous Barbara Windsor.
Mr Johnson told BBC: “It was, of course, a tremendous honour to step inside that most venerable of London landmarks, the Queen Vic, and share a scene with another of the capital’s icons, the fabulous Barbara Windsor.”

Eastenders actress Barbara Windsor has said that she wouldn’t mind defecting from the BBC soap in order to do a stint on ITV soap Coronation Street.
The 71-year-old The Sun: “I kind of have worked with most people I’d want to.
“I suppose I wouldn’t mind having a go in Coronation Street for a bit, you know, see how they do it.”

Chris Moyles joins Jonathan Ross on his BBC One show Friday Night With Jonathan Ross and reveals he had no qualms about climbing Kilimanjaro.
“I’ve lost two stone this year, I lost a stone in a week… I wouldn’t recommend it!”
He also says he’s staying at BBC Radio 1: “Everything’s great, I love it, I really want to stay there… I’m really happy.”

Barbara Windsor is reportedly furious with the BBC after she was denied an invite to this weeks BAFTA ceremony.
Other cast members were also said to be angry at also being snubbed, as only those who appeared in the Christmas episode were said to be invited.
A show insider told The Sun: “Of course, all the cast in the Christmas episodes were going to be invited.
“But Barbara wasn’t so happy – and rightfully so – because she’s the matriarch of the show.” Read more & comment »
