Mr Selfridge star, Katherine Kelly, has confirmed that she has signed up for the second series of the hit ITV period drama when it returns next year.
Mr Selfridge was recommissioned for a second series just before the first series concluded on our ITV screens earlier this month, after what can only be described as a phenomenal response from viewers, but returning stars remained somewhat of a mystery with none, until now, being revealed as signed up.

Former Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly has revealed that she would never say never to a Becky McDonald return to the show.
Kelly, who has just starred in the epic ITV period drama Mr Selfridge, left our Coronation Street screens as Becky McDonald back in 2012 after starring in some of the shows biggest and most hard-hitting storylines.

Oh dear, it seems that Steve McDonald’s complicated love life is set to intensify dramatically next week in Coronation Street!
Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how over the last few weeks Steve (Simon Gregson) has been slowly working his charms on ex-fiancée, Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) who he deserted a few years ago when he began seeing his second to last wife, Becky (Katherine Kelly).

Corrie star Ryan Thomas – who plays builder Jason Grimshaw – has revealed that he misses former co-star Katherine Kelly, and he added that he’d love to see her back on the soap one day to reprise the role of Becky McDonald.
As fans will recall, Katherine left the show last year in order to pursue other roles, and has since received critical acclaim for her role in stage play, She Stoops To Conquer.
Speaking to the PA, Ryan – whose brother Adam plays the role of Adam Barton in Emmerdale – said, “I’d like to see Becky’s return some time, I miss that character very much and I miss Katherine the person very much.
“I think if she ever came back as a guest appearance it would make my day.”

Katherine Kelly, who played Becky McDonald in popular ITV soap, Coronation Street, until earlier this year, has landed a presenting role on ITV’s This Morning!
Kelly, who won Best Exit at this years British Soap Awards for her characters happy-ever-after departure to pastures new,will host a four-part mini series in the award-winning day time show, called Kelly’s Heroes.

Since we last saw Katherine Kelly in her Coronation Street role as Becky McDonald, she’s been a busy bunny…
She’s been starring in hit stage play She Stoops to Conquer, as well as filming a variety of TV roles, including a part in a new Kenny Everett biopic, and a role in forthcoming drama, Mr Selfridge.
So while speaking to What’s On TV as she attended last weekend’s British Soap Awards, where she picked up the gongs for Best Exit and Best Single Episode for Becky’s farewell, when asked if she was missing Corrie, a busy Kat replied, “I haven’t had chance!”
She added, “I don’t regret leaving at all. I haven’t had a chance, I haven’t had a moment to even think about it.”
And of being at the awards, Kat said, “Tonight is like a high school reunion for me, that’s what I’m excited about. It’s nice to come out en masse and celebrate.” Read more & comment »

Last night saw the 13th annual British Soap Awards, and all the stars braved the wind and rain to take their seats for the spectacular event, held at the ITV studios in London, where UnrealityTV were on the red carpet to speak to them all before the event started.
The cast of Coronation Street were out in force on the red carpet, hoping to bring home the majority of silverware for a second consecutive year at the prestigious awards ceremony.

Katherine Kelly has of course ended her run as Becky McDonald on Coronation Street, and we’ll see some of her final scenes in tonight’s episodes, however, Kat has revealed that she was impressed with Becky’s new fella, Danny, and described him as her alter ego’s “leaving present.”
Danny, who’s played by the gorgeous Jeremy Sheffield, has of course fallen head over heels for Becky, and will be seen whisking her off to start a new life in Barbados.
Of Becky’s exit plotline, and Danny in particular, Kat told What’s On TV magazine, “I thought, ‘Well done girl, not bad.’
“He’s lovely, I mean, what a gift, hey? He’s like a leaving present. How marvellous.”
And in another interview with the Daily Mirror, Kat discussed how much playing the role of Becky has changed her life.

In upcoming episodes of Corrie, the Barlow family is set to hit the self-destruct button when both Tracy and Peter Barlows lies and deceits are exposed.
First, Tracy (Kate Ford) will face the wrath of Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) when his ex, Becky (Katherine Kelly) proves to him that Tracy lied about the circumstances of her recent miscarriage.
In truly dramatic form, Becky will rush to stop Steve from marrying Tracy on their wedding day – handing him Tracy’s medical records as he stands at the altar – however, rumour has it, she’ll be too late, but after the truth comes out, Steve tells Tracy it’s over between them and he plans to get a divorce as soon as he can.
However, when it’s also revealed that Tracy’s mum Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) knew the truth all along, her long-suffering and furious husband Ken (Bill Roache) will throw her out of the house! Read more & comment »

ITV have revealed that they are to air a special tribute to Corrie’s Katherine Kelly to celebrate her time on the Street as Becky McDonald.
Entitled, ‘Farewell Becky’ RTÉ report that the one-off show will air on ITV on January 24 at 7:30pm, and will look back at the Becky’s best moments.
Katherine of course announced last year that she intended to leave the show – she first appeared in 2006 – and has since taken on the role of Miss Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer, which will play at the National Theatre from 24th January.
ITV’s statement about the tribute show reads, “The character of Becky may have started out as a petty criminal, but she went on to steal the hearts of the nation.
“So, as viewers prepare to say farewell to one of the best-loved characters in British soap, we follow Becky’s journey from her first appearance in a police station, through her many triumphs and traumas – ending with her emotional send-off on the show… Read more & comment »

As fans of Coronation Street will know, Katherine Kelly is leaving the show, and as part of her exit storyline, her character Becky McDonald is set to fall for handsome hotelier, Danny, who’s played by Jeremy Sheffield.
And today, Soaplife report that Jeremy – who has previously starred in Holby City, Merlin, and as a dancer in Queen’s video to their hit track ‘I Want to Break Free’ – has been talking about how his character is set to fall for Becky.
We first met Jeremy in the role of Danny over Christmas when Becky and Steve (Simon Gregson) met up with him in a hotel to hash out a deal to provide his establishment with cabs. The New Year is already off to a dramatic start for many of the Street’s residents, what with Sally Webster’s attraction to nasty Frank Foster, and Becky McDonald’s fight to prove she didn’t push Tracy Luv Barlow down the stairs.

Gossip from Weatherfield way today includes the news that – sigh – Katherine Kelly has filmed her final scenes as Becky McDonald.
More on that in a moment, but first, Simon Gregson – who of course plays Becky’s ex, Steve McDonald, and whose real name is actually Simon Alan Gregory – has been telling What’s On TV magazine how he’ll be spending Christmas.
And it seems since his marriage to wife Emma last year – the couple have two sons – Simon’s become something of a home body.
He said, “Christmas 2011 is just Christmas with the family at home in front of the fire.
“Emma and I are doing the cooking this year so we’ll be having a massive turkey, maybe a turducken!”

It’s been revealed today that Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly) is going to become trapped in a fire on Christmas Day, after deciding to burn photographs of her ex, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
As the rest of the Street are celebrating the festivities, a lonely and depressed Becky will – as she’s wont to do – hit the bottle, and after having herself a mini-Stevie bonfire, she’ll fall asleep…
However, parts of the smoldering photos will fall to floor and start a fire, while an oblivious Becky sleeps it off.
She decides to destroy all photos of Steve after learning that he’s proposed to Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who is of course expecting his babies. However, as has been previously reported, Tracy will miscarry the twins and try to blame the tragedy on Becky… Read more & comment »

News from Weatherfield today includes Alison King branding her character Carla Connor as “selfish” over her forthcoming affair with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and that Katherine Kelly had a ball at her leaving party.
Starting with Alison, she told Inside Soap that as the anniversary of the tram crash looms, Peter finds it difficult to keep it together, and turns once again to booze.
He then turns to Carla, and, given that she’s been in love with him for a long time now, she won’t feel much – if any – guilt about doing the dirty on her friend and Peter’s wife, Leanne (Jane Danson).
