The whole nation is on the edge of their seats waiting for the new series of Sherlock to hit our screens, so we were all delighted when it was earlier reported that this would be happening in September.
Fans have followed the progress of the third series, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the title role in the BBC modern day twist on the original novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, since filming began a few months ago after a two year break since series 2, so were all thrilled that we may only have to wait a few more months to see all the action.

It’s been revealed today that Sherlock and Parade’s End star Benedict Cumberbatch filmed a naked shower scene as part of his role in Star Trek: Into Darkness…
And despite the fact that Benedict has thousands of female fans who may well have gone to see the movie just for that reason, the director decided to delete it from the movie’s final cut!
In the film, Benedict – who was recently voted by Sun readers as Sexiest Man – plays the role of terrorist Khan, who goes into battle with Captain Kirk, who’s played by Chris Pine. Read more & comment »

It would seem that, whilst his Sherlock co-star is lapping up all the attention and credit his starring role in the new Hobbit trilogy is getting him, Benedict Cumberbatch doesn’t think he is getting enough!
Cumberbatch, who plays the title role in the BBC modern remake of the Sherlock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, has only been credited for lending his voice for the character Smaug, but he claims he did a lot more than just speak.

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he believes the villain he plays in the new Star Trek movie is relevant in today’s society.
Cumberbatch, who is currently filming the third series of the modern day twist on the famous Arthur Conan Doyle novels with co-star Martin Freeman, plays John Harrison in the new film, Star Trek: Into Darkness.

It would seem that the break between episode’s two and three of the third series of Sherlock has ended, as its main stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have been spotted filming again, in Cardiff Centre!
Episodes one and two of the third Sherlock series, entitled The Empty Hearse and The Sign of Three, have already been filmed, with a scheduled break planned before production of the third and final episode of series three commences.

Benedict Cumberbatch could be about to add another string to his bow, it has been reported. The talented actor is about to release his latest movie Star Trek Into Darkness but it’s been claimed that he has also been turning his hand to music and will be featured on a new compilation album put together by Röyksopp.
Benedict found fame on hit BBC drama Sherlock in recent years and his star has been on the rise ever since. As well as starring in Star Trek, he has also worked on Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ and recently filmed ‘The Fifth Estate’ where he took on the lead role.

With many a story circulating about series four of Sherlock, despite the fact that series three hasn’t even been completely filmed yet, show runner Steven Moffat has come forward to say that nothing has actually been confirmed.
We reported earlier this year how the shows main star, Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock in the hugely popular BBC detective series, had said that both he and co-star Martin freeman, who plays his sidekick John Watson, had both signed up for a fourth series, and were both keen to keep doing the show for as long as it ran.

In a recent interview for the Times newspaper, Caitlin Moran was invited to have Sunday lunch with the BBC detective star and his parents, actors Wanda Ventham and Timothy Carlton.

Benedict Cumberbatch has spilled the beans on his disastrous James Bond audition in a recent interview with David Letterman. He even went on to talk about tears on the Star Trek red carpet.
In a recent interview with David Letterman on his Late Show, Cumberbatch opened up about his failed James Bond video game audition – after he turned up in casual wear and started jumping around the room like a hyperactive 5 year old.

After we reported earlier this week how Benedict Cumberbatch had stated that he was “in it for the long haul”, his Sherlock co-star, Martin Freeman has said that, he too, is staying loyal to the hit BBC detective series.
Cumberbatch, who along with Freeman has already signed up for a fourth series of the blockbuster show, stated in a recent interview that he would like to grow old with his on-screen eccentrically brilliant alter ego, and that he could see the show, which is a modern day twist on the famous novels by Arthur Conan Doyle, lasting for many years to come.

With the third series of Sherlock currently being filmed its main star Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that we won’t be seeing a new love interest for his alter-ego, as Sherlock is too busy for sex!
Throughout the novels of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, which Sherlock is based on, there was only ever one woman in Sherlock’s life, Irene Adler, but even she only actually featured in one story (though she was referred to continuously thereafter).

Sherlock superstar, Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that his 2000 hijacking experience has left him scarred for life.
The actor, who is currently filming for the third series of the hit BBC detective series, had been filming in South Africa for the TV series To the Ends of the Earth when he, and two co-stars were held hostage in an execution position with duvets over their heads after their car was carjacked.
