Fans of Emmerdale will know that young Gabby Thomas (Annelise Manojlovic) hasn’t been a happy bunny for months, what with her father Ashley and her step-mum Laurel breaking up and Laurel subsequently moving in with her lover, Marlon (Mark Charnock).

Add to that the fact that the child’s biological mum Bernice (Samantha Giles) turned up in the village and is now setting up home with her lover Steve (Tom Mannion) it’s little wonder that the kid’s going off the rails…

And as we’ll see in next week’s episodes, despite the fact that she’s just 12 years old, she’s set to give her parents – and their partners – a stark glimpse of what’s to come in her teenage years when she first steals from the Woolpack till, then gets drunk at school!

As fans of Emmerdale will know, Bernice Blackstock is headed back to the village, having come home to her mum Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) while she tries to sort out problems in her marriage.

And of course, actress Samantha Giles has now filmed the return of Bernice, who was formerly married to the now defrocked vicar, Ashley Thomas (John Middleton).

However, as she hasn’t played the role for several years, Samantha revealed to Inside Soap magazine that she was initially worried that she wouldn’t remember how to play the part.

She said, “I was very excited to be back, but I did think, ‘Oh blimey! What sort of person was she?!’

As fans of Emmerdale will most likely know, Diane Sugden’s (Elizabeth Estensen) daughter Bernice Blackstock is going to arrive unexpectedly in the village next Tuesday…

It’ll soon transpire that Bernice had come running home to mum because she’s having marital problems, and needs some breathing space away from her husband to figure out what she wants.

But of course, her arrival comes at a bad time for separated couple Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) because they are currently trying to get young Gabby settled into the routine of sharing her time between Laurel and Ashley’s respective homes.

However, Bernice is of course Gabby’s biological daughter, and Laurel is therefore only her step-mother, and to make things worse for Laurel, Gabby hates her, blaming her for splitting the Thomas family up… Read more & comment »

As fans of Emmerdale will surely know, Bernice Blackstock – daughter of Rodney Blackstock and Diane Sugden – is headed back to the village, and ITV have now revealed more details of the storyline that brings her running back to her mum…

Apparently, Bernice (Samantha Giles) arrives at The Woolpack out of the blue, much to mum Diane’s (Elizabeth Estensen) surprise, but it quickly transpires – after Bernice bursts into tears – that this is no social call and Bernice has in fact left her husband.

However, what Bernice doesn’t immediately admit is that she’s been having an affair, which is something she has a previous history of! As fans of Emmerdale will probably know, in forthcoming episodes, Carl King is set to discover that his former fiancé Chas Dingle had an affair with Cameron Murray, and Carl being Carl, he’s going to use that knowledge to his own advantage…

We’ll see him demanding that Chas (Lucy Pargeter) repay him the £30,000 she took from him before ditching him at the altar in 2010 after she announced that she knew all about his affair with Eve Jensen (Suzanne Shaw).

Carl will tell Chas and Cameron (Dominic Power) that if he doesn’t get his money, both of their partners – that’s Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) – will hear about their affair.
