Comedians Arabella Weir, Bill Bailey and Paul Bazely have been telling the PA that in their guest roles in the Doctor Who Christmas special, they’re like “The Three Stooges” both on and off screen!
Arabella, Bill and Paul are of course making guest appearances in the special, and of their roles, Arabella explained that although their characters look somewhat scary in their costumes, they’re actually not very frightening at all.
She went on to explain that the Doctor and Madge Arwell (Claire Skinner) first encounter Arabella’s character in the magic forest.
She said, “We’re not very frightening. When you first see us we look scary, but really we’re more like The Three Stooges.
Outnumbered actress Claire Skinner, and comedian Bill Bailey, will star in a Doctor Who Christmas special this year.
Alexander Armstrong and Fast Show star Arabella Weir also join Matt Smith in the festive episodes which, according to The Sun, “will see the Time Lord in World War Two-torn England with young widow Madge (Claire) and her two children.”
Claire said of her role in the cult show, “I am thrilled. Madge is a bit of super-mum. It’s a magical part.” Read more & comment »
Colin Morgan has admitted that he would love Bill Bailey to join the cast of the fourth series of Merlin.
The 25 year old actor – who plays the title character in the BBC TV series based on the Arthurian legends of the mythical wizard– confessed that if he can’t work alongside US star Paul Newman, he would love the ‘Black Books’ star to play his uncle on the show.
