Reports suggest that BBC is planning to axe one episode of childrens TV show, Blue Peter per week and also to reduce the length of each series.
A BBC source told The Daily Mirror:
“They have been told to squeeze the budgets and have decided that the best way to do this is to have two shows a week rather than three,”
“There are also plans to cut the length of each series. It’s very sad to diminish it in this way.”
A corporation spokesman said no decision had yet been made. “CBBC’s long-running formats are looked at regularly to check they are still working,” he added. “Editors change, presenters change and sometimes the show changes.”
