Paul O’Grady’s chat show axed amid Britain’s Got Talent rumours

It’s been reported today that comic Paul O’Grady’s Friday night show, Paul O’Grady Live, has been axed amid rumours that Paul may take a judging role on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

The Sun states that ITV had originally planned for a third series of Paul’s show to air this year, but they have now changed their minds.

Speaking of O’Grady’s series, a source told The Sun’s TV Biz, “The show was good and they were pleased with it but it just didn’t pull its weight in the ratings.

“Paul isn’t upset, it was a joint decision.” Read more & comment »

Britain’s Got Talent 2011 Results: Jai McDowall won over Ronan Parke!

Jai McDowall has become the 2011 winner of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ .

The Scottish singer was the shock champion of the ITV show, after beating off stiff competition from bookies favourite Ronan Parke and last night took home a prize of £100,000, as well as a slot on the upcoming Royal Variety Show.

Jai sang his way to glory, giving an emotional and impressive rendition of Josh Groban’s hit ‘To Where You Are’ and the 24 year old support worker surprised even the show’s judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff – when Ant and Dec revealed that he had received the most public votes.

Britain’s Got Talent 2011 semi final results: Jai McDowall and Steven Hall voted through!

Jai McDowall and Steven Hall have become the seventh and eighth acts to be voted through to the 2011 ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final.

Jai received a standing ovation from the judges and audience after he wowed the crowd with an impressive version of Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’. He brought a classic feel to the rock number and at the end of the results show, won the most public votes and advanced straight through to the ITV1 show’s grand finale.

Britain’s Got Talent 2011 semi final results: James Hobley and Les Gibson voted through!

James Hobley and Les Gibson have become the fifth and sixth acts to make it through to Saturday’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final show.

Les won the most public votes on the night, after putting on a great impressionist performance, which included a take on of presenting duo Ant and Dec. After hearing that he had won the viewers backing, the 41 year old performer laughed:

“This feels fantastic. I want to thank everyone for voting…. It’s an overwhelming feeling.

Britain’s Got Talent 2011 semi final results: Jean Martyn and New Bounce voted through!

New Bounce won last night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi final and after receiving the highest amount of public votes, will now have the chance to perform for the judges once more on Saturday’s final show.

Simon Cowell branded the teenage boyband “the ones to beat” after they wowed him, Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre with their amazing rendition of Jessie J’s recent hit single ‘Price Tag.’

Britain’s Got Talent 2011 semi final results: Ronan Park and Paul Gbegbaje voted through!

Ronan Parke became the first performer to win a place in Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent final, on last night’s live semi fianl show.

The schoolboy singer bowled over the judging panel – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff – with his emotional performance of Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ on the ITV1 show.

Britain’s Got Talent 2011: Michael Collins has his own Susan Boyle moment!

Michael Collins was seen taking the Cardiff audience by surprise on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent.

The show returned for the first episode of it’s fifth series and even though the addition of Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff to the lineup meant that it has almost a brand new panel, there were still the same moments of shock when a contestant looks like they will be hideously bad and then turn out to be astoundingly talented.

Britain’s Got Talent 2011: Michael Collins, Donelda Guy, David Knight and Steven Hall wow on show one
