Hollyoaks hero, Kieron Richardson, has revealed that he would love to win the award for Sexiest Male at this year’s British Soap Awards, for all his gay fans!
Richardson, who plays homosexual Ste Hay in the hit Channel 4 soap, has been shortlisted for the category, up against his Hollyoaks co-star Danny Mac who plays Dodger Savage, Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, EastEnders David Witts, who plays Joey Branning and Coronation Street star Chris Fountain, who plays Tommy Duckworth.

Hurrah!!! We have some happy news to report with regards to a soap star’s personal life for once, Emmerdale’s Natalie Anderson has given birth to a baby boy!
Natalie, who plays feisty bar maid, Alicia Gallagher in the hit ITV soap, told Unreality TV that she was expecting her first child back in April at the British Soap Awards and that she would be taking maternity leave from the show till the end of the year.

Who knew!!! Emmerdale’s Dominic power, who plays love cheat, Cameron Murray in the hit ITV soap, was once in EastEnders, but it doesn’t sound like he has any desires to return!
Power, who joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2011 as a love interest for mechanic teen-mum, Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), has described his experience on the BBC rival soap as “awful”.

Emmerdale bosses are having to pay out a reported £28,000 to repair damages that a stunt on the show caused to the countryside it was shot on.
The stunt was the dramatic car crash involving John and Moira Barton earlier this year, which won the Spectacular Scene Of The Year Award at the British Soap Awards in April, which was filmed in a famous Yorkshire beauty spot.

Matt Lapinskas has opened up about his off-screen romance with EastEnders co-star, Shona McGarty.
Lapinskas, who was recently axed from his role as Anthony Moon in the award-winning BBC soap, has been seeing McGarty, who plays troubled teen Whitney Dean, since last year has told Closer magazine that it was “love at first sight” when the two met.

Katherine Kelly, who played Becky McDonald in popular ITV soap, Coronation Street, until earlier this year, has landed a presenting role on ITV’s This Morning!
Kelly, who won Best Exit at this years British Soap Awards for her characters happy-ever-after departure to pastures new,will host a four-part mini series in the award-winning day time show, called Kelly’s Heroes.

The start of summer’s sizzling new romance could be a round the corner in Hollyoaks, as Doug Carter is about to come out and admit he is gay in a bid to prove to business partner Ste Hay that he is serious about their budding relationship.
Viewers have watched over the past few weeks how straight Doug (PJ Brennan) has developed deeper feelings for deli co-owner, Ste (Keiron Richardson), but how his confusion over his sexuality caused Ste to back away,claiming the loveable yank wasn’t ready to deal with how he felt yet.

After we reported yesterday that rumour had it that EastEnders, who are struggling with viewing ratings, was planning on sacking Matt Lapinskas,who plays Anthony Moon in the BBC soap, the news has now been confirmed.
Lapinskas, who is dating Shona McGarty who plays Whitney Dean in real life, is set to depart from the show within the next few weeks, after less than a year of playing the antiques dealer.

The great and good of the soap world all gathered in London on Saturday night for The British Soap Awards 2012 and Eastenders has once again come out on top and been announced as the nation’s favourite soap! It was also a big night for Coronation Street who walked away with the biggest haul of gongs including Best Actress and Best Exit. Emmerdale also had a decent night picking up 3 awards including Best Actor and Best Storyline whilst Hollyoaks and Doctors were sadly left empty handed. Below is the full and official list of Winners from The British Soap Awards 2012.

As fans of Coronation Street will know, when Michelle Collins joined the cast as Stella Price, there was a bit of a hoohar about her Manchester accent, given that we’d formerly known Michelle as EastEnders’ Cindy Beale…
In fact, the issue of her accent at one point looked set to unseat Phil Collinson as the show’s executive producer, but as he predicted at the time, viewers eventually got used to Michelle’s accent.
However, former Corrie star Bradley Walsh – who played the role of Danny Baldwin – reignited the flames of the row at the British Soap Awards when he suggested there should be an award for accents in soap.

Last night saw the 13th annual British Soap Awards, and all the stars braved the wind and rain to take their seats for the spectacular event, held at the ITV studios in London, where UnrealityTV were on the red carpet to speak to them all before the event started.
The cast of Coronation Street were out in force on the red carpet, hoping to bring home the majority of silverware for a second consecutive year at the prestigious awards ceremony.
