On the third episode of Simon Cowell’s new cookery series, presenter Carol Vorderman joins the judging panel – Tom Parker Bowles, Anne Harrison, Stacie Stuart, and guest Judge Andi Oliver – as they travel to the North West and see what culinary delights are on offer.
The team are geared up to find the best recipe in the country and tonight will chew their way through some of the nicest hotpots, pies and stews as they get to know the chefs, cooks and housewives behind the creations.
It’s fair to say that Simon Cowell’s TV shows have not had a good year what with criticisms levelled at The X-Factor on both sides of the Atlantic plus the failure that was Red or Black he really needs another hit show. It seems then that Cowell has looked to the success of The Great British Bake-Off for inspiration and realised that it might be an idea to create a cooking show.
Loose Women star Carol Vorderman has revealed that when she worked on Countdown, a man who was stalking her was eventually sectioned as he believed Carol was speaking directly to him through his TV.
Carol made the revelation while recording an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, during which she also discussed the breakdown of her marriage to Patrick King, and her glamorous transformation from frumpy maths geek to sultry siren.
Of the stalkers who’ve plagued her, she explained, “I have had stalkers over the years. The police deal with it but it is very scary.
“One man kept turning up where we filmed Countdown in Leeds, which was scary.

Yesterday, when Carol Vorderman tried out a new ‘tousled’ look on ITV’s hit daytime show Loose Women, it caused such a ruckus that the topic was soon trending on Twitter.
Carol – who of course shot to fame as the staid and dowdy Countdown brainbox – had a “wild” hairdo and heavy make up, especially around her eyes.
Even while the show was on air, Twitter users began posting about her new look, with one saying, “Carol Vorderman looks like she’s come straight from a night out.”
Another tweeted, “Carol looks like she’s gone from a walk of shame straight on set” while yet another viewer said, “She looks like she’s been dragged through a bush backwards…” Read more & comment »
As you may have read in the Daily Mirror yesterday, Take That singer Robbie Williams declared that everyone, himself included, would like to sleep with boffin turned sex goddess, Carol Vorderman.
During a live web chat, and shortly after discussing if he would ever sleep with a man – for the right price – the talk turned to ‘cougars’, which is when Robbie said, “Is there anyone in the room who wouldn’t sleep with Carol Vorderman?
“The whole room would sleep with Carol Vorderman.”

Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman has revealed that she already feels “very at home” on the panel of ITV’s daytime show, Loose Women.
Carol is quoted by MSN as saying, “Since Richard [Whiteley, former Countdown presenter] died, I’ve missed being part of a gang.
“I’ve hosted programmes since but it’s not quite the same.
“I absolutely adore banter and when I hosted Loose Women a couple of times last year, I felt very at home.”

This year’s Pride of Britain Awards will air on ITV on Wednesday evening, and ahead of it, Carol Vorderman has been telling What’s On TV a little more about this year’s show…
And how she tries to keep her emotions in check on the big night amid all the heart wrenching tales of bravery and the overcoming of adversity faced by many of the show’s special guests.
When asked, “Do you find it hard to keep your emotions in check?” Carol replied, “I do actually.
“The only thing is by the time it comes to the night, I know the stories, I’ve met them and I’ve met the families so it’s not a big surprise to me, not like it hits you the first time.
“I’ve probably sobbed about five times on each story by the time the night comes!
