LOVE TRAP: Channel 4

Who are the most romantic men on earth? If there was an Olympics of Love, which nation would win gold? How much of our courting behaviour is innate and how much is cultural? Love Trap is going to find out by putting the mating rituals of different nationalities under the microscope. Five men from across the world have been brought to London: their mission is to win the heart of Carolina, a 24-year-old single girl from Sweden.

Richard And Judy Leave Channel 4 Chat Show

Husband and Wife team, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan have announced that they will be leaving their Channel 4 chat show.

The pair plan to finish with the show when their contracts run out next year.

“The programme is still full of life, but we have taken the difficult decision to leave it on a high,” Madeley said.

“After seven consecutive years we both feel we have achieved everything we wanted with the show.

“We want the chance to launch other projects in broadcasting and writing while we are still young enough,” he added.

In this week’s Unreported World , reporter Hamida Ghafour and producer James Brabazon travel to one of the strangest, wildest cities on earth: Buenaventura, on Colombia’s Pacific coast. There is little running water or electricity in Buenaventura and housing is so scarce that people have constructed whole neighbourhoods of shacks built on stilts. Yet, over the last two years violent death has become an everyday fact in this city of around 300,000 people. Everyone is affected, almost everyone has lost someone.

Simon Pegg’s Spaced Hits America

Like The Office before it, Simon Pegg’s Channel 4 sitcom, Spaced will be adapted into an American version by US network, Fox.

Having starred in recent box office hits such as Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run and of course Shaun Of The Dead, things just can’t get much better for Mr Pegg, can they!

Multi Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay is back with his trademark mix of tough talking and inspiration. The venue for tonight’s first programme is Ruby Tates in Brighton, owned and run by ex-actor Allan Love. It’s an oyster bar and seafood restaurant but Allan’s never tasted the food because he hates fish. He won’t even put his head round the door of his own kitchen, where lurk two angry chefs - furious Frenchman Alex and indolent Aussie Jamie - busy doing nothing but turning out a lacklustre menu including hot fruits de mer and ageing lobster. Get ready for flying sparks.

In Wysall, just outside Nottingham, Steve Lumb is trying to ward off a mid-life crisis by converting a striking Methodist chapel. The building offers up the most amazing space but Steve is suffering from a complete lack of vision and wants to carve it up into a bog-standard three-bedroom home. In Elm, Cambridgeshire, carpenter Vaughan Dibble and his partner Jackie Vickers fall hook, line and sinker for a quaint former pub.
