BBC newsreaders Fiona Bruce and Sophie Raworth In Abba Catsuits

BBC newsreaders Fiona Bruce and Sophie Raworth donned catsuits and platform shoes for their roles as Abba singers Agnetha and Frida for Friday’s Children In Need fundraiser.

They’ll be re-enacting a scene from Mamma Mia!, the hit West End musical that features Abba hits and was made into a blockbusting movie starring Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan.

McFly to sing ‘Do Ya’ Children in Need 2008 song

The producers of BBC’s Children in Need have announced that the 2008 Children in Need single will be performed by McFly, who will be donating all profits from the single to this year’s appeal.

The double-A sided single features the track ‘Do Ya’ from their current album Radio:ACTIVE, as well as a cover version of Rod Stewart and The Faces’ Seventies hit, ‘Stay With Me’.

Both songs will be performed on Children in Need on Friday 14th November.

Step into the Tardis for Children in Need

Fans of smash-hit shows Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go behind the scenes at the studios where the shows are filmed.

On Saturday and Sunday, 8 and 9 November, the BBC will be opening the studio doors just outside Cardiff to 100 lucky competition winners and their friends and families.

The money-can’t-buy-experience is being run to help raise money for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.
