Chris Evans – BBC Radio 2’s new breakfast host – joins Jonathan Ross for this week’s Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC One.

In an extraordinarily candid interview Chris says he can’t wait to take over from Terry Wogan and won’t fail: “There was no fear, I said yes straightaway. What happened at Radio 1 will never happen again, I will never get to that point.”

Gloria Hunniford has hit out at the decision to replace Terry Wogan with Chris Evans on the Radio Two breakfast show.

She told BBC Radio Ulster’s Stephen Nolan: “I thought maybe Steve Wright would have moved into that breakfast slot – I’m surprised Chris Evans is moving in.

“Personally I am quite shocked but if they’re going for that younger audience – you know, going to school and that – maybe Chris is an obvious choice.”

Terry Wogan has confirmed that his “good friend” Chris Evans will take over the BBC Radio Two breakfast show next year.

Wogan revealed the change of presenters on this mornings show and said that he was sure his listeners would welcome Evans with “loyalty and support”.

Wogan said: “It touches me deeply that I’ve played a part in your lives for, it seems, like generations.

“This is not goodbye – not even au revoir. As we used to say when I was a boy, see you later alligator.”

Channel 4 entertainment show ‘Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’ may be making a return to screens both in the UK and worldwide.

The Channel 4 entertainment show was fronted by Chris Evans for two series from 1994 and now Digital Rights Group are said to be in talks with foreign broadcasters about selling the format.
