Coronation Street star, Michelle Keegan, has revealed that since embarking on a surrogacy storyline in the show this year, she would now “never rule out” being a surrogate mother herself.

Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how Michelle’s character, Tina McIntyre, is currently pregnant with the surrogate child of her friends Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) and Gary Windass (Mikey North), in one of the show’s most gripping storylines of late.

Tyrone Dobbs (Alana Halsall) has suffered at the hands of his abusive partner, Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) for months now. Originally putting it down to pregnancy and hormones, poor Tyrone is now facing the fact that this what life is like for him now, and decides to do something about it, which is when he comes up with the plan to flee with his beloved daughter.

Coronation Street star Chris Fountain has revealed his hopes for a happy ending for his character Tommy Duckworth, and his girlfriend Tina McIntyre, as he would be sad if they were to split up over their latest drama.

Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how Tina (Michelle Keegan) went behind Tommy’s back to attend a clinic appointment in order to be implanted with the embryos of Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) despite knowing how against the surrogacy Tommy was.

Fans of Coronation Street will of course know that Tommy Duckworth has been wholeheartedly opposed to his girlfriend Tina McIntyre’s plan to become a surrogate mother for Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston).

However, though Tina (Michelle Keegan) eventually agreed to abandon the plan, given how unhappy Tommy was about it, she then did an about turn and at the last minute, she underwent the procedure to have Gary and Izzy’s embryos implanted…

As fans of Coronation Street will know, in last week’s episodes, cash strapped Tina McIntyre volunteered to become a surrogate mother for Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston).

However, when Tommy (Chris Fountain) found out about the deal that Tina had struck with Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) – in which he offered her £15k to carry the baby – he went mad and told Tina that if she goes through with the idea, he’ll leave her.

Which is a tad unreasonable, given that the couple’s financial woes are in fact all his fault!

But nonetheless, in tonight’s double bill of episodes, we’ll see that neither Tommy nor Tina are prepared to back down on their opposing stances.

The feud between Kirsty Soames and Tina McIntyre has been going on since the day Kirsty first began dating Tyrone Dobbs, and of course, things have been getting progressively worse…

And in episodes that will air this week, things come to a very dramatic head when first, Tommy (Chris Fountain) crashes his van when he falls asleep at the wheel, and second when Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) goes into labour in the Rovers after yet another row with Tina!

The shocking events begin in earnest during tonight’s double bill, when we’ll see Kirsty issuing Tina (Michelle Keegan) with a threat, but feisty Tina tells her, “I’m not scared of you!”

In an episode of Corrie that airs a week tomorrow, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) will lash out as his best mate Tommy Duckworth when he confronts Tyrone’s newly returned fiancé Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) over her violence towards Ty.

However, the confrontation comes after Tommy (Chris Fountain) sees Tyrone with a bandage, and assuming that Kirsty must have injured Ty again – Tommy’s girlfriend Tina (Michelle Keegan) has confided in him about Tyrone’s domestic situation – he gives Kirsty a tongue lashing.

Kirsty is of course horrified to learn that Tyrone has told Tina, and that she’s told Tommy, about what goes on behind closed doors in their home.

But it will transpire that Tyrone accidentally scalded himself, and the injury was in fact not down to Kirsty at all. Read more & comment »

Things are not set to get any better for poor Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, as his twisted boyfriend-bashing ex, Kirsty Soames, goes behind his back to register his daughter, leaving the father’s name as unknown so he has no rights over his own baby.

Fans of the show will know how heavily pregnant Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) walked out on Tyrone (Alan Halsall) last week, after another row turned into another violent assault on the kind-hearted mechanic.  Since then, Tyrone has decided to seek legal advice over the future of his unborn baby.

Chris Fountain has one of the best jobs in world – so sayeth my beloved – because in his Corrie role as Tommy Duckworth, he gets to kiss Michelle Keegan, who of course plays Tommy’s girlfriend, Tina McIntyre.

However, according to Chris, sharing kisses on-screen is nothing like real life romance, and in an interview with TV Biz, he said, “I’ve never kissed anyone on screen like I would kiss my girlfriend.”

Said girlfriend being the very lucky Jessica Derrick – yeah, I can window shop too mate – who apparently has no problem seeing Chris in passionate scenes with Michelle.

As fans of Corrie will know, evil loan shark Rick Whelan (Greg Wood) has passed on Terry Duckworth’s debt to his son Tommy, who’s being forced to secrete drugs on cars he’s working on to pay off what Terry owes…

And while speaking to Soaplife about how her character Tina McIntyre will feel when she finds out what Tommy (Chris Fountain) has been doing, Michelle Keegan also revealed that she’s not sure if Tina and Tommy can make it through the crisis and stay together.

She began by saying, “She feels totally betrayed he didn’t tell her about Rick. She thought they had a good relationship.

“Not only that, but they’re best friends who are meant to talk to each other about everything.”

In last night’s trip to Weatherfield, we saw wicked Terry Duckworth – who’s played villainously well by Nigel Pivaro – pretending to his son Tommy that he had nothing to do with Tina McIntyre ending up in a coma…

But of course, he did, as she fell and hit her head during a scuffle with him. And he was just about to do a runner when Tommy turned up, prompting the ever resourceful Terry to immediately switch gears and claim he was looking for Tommy because he’d found Tina (Michelle Keegan) unconscious.

Then as if all that wasn’t evil enough, while Tommy anxiously awaited news on Tina’s condition in hospital, Terry lied that he’d had a text from loan shark Rick Whelan (Greg Wood) saying that Tommy would be “next.”

While appearing on This Morning, the rather gorgeous – ok, he’s a lot gorgeous, when he’s not bright orange that is >>> – Chris Fountain has revealed that he feels sorry for his Corrie character, Tommy Duckworth.

As fans of the show will know, Tommy’s dad Terry – who’s played by Nigel Pivaro, who I’m going to miss a lot, primarily because I love it when he says “T’rone” instead of Tyrone – is trouble with a capital T…

But it’s become clear that it’s going to take something pretty radical and major to make poor Tommy see past the fact that he just wants his dad in his life.

However, unfortunately for Tommy, that’s about to happen when the scheming Terry tries to burn down the lap dancing club for the insurance payout. But in doing so, Terry will leave Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) in a coma after he violently throws her to the ground.

Poor ole Tommy will have a desperate 24 hours at Tina’s side in hospital as doctors warn that she may never fully recover.
