Christina Applegate has spoken about being nominated for an Emmy this year, saying that the honour is bittersweet.

Christina starred in comedy ‘Samantha Who’, which has since been cancelled. She is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy Series and told E! Entertainment:

“This year’s nomination means more to me than ever before. I’m incredibly happy and honored. Certainly it’s bittersweet—we no longer get to do the show that we love so much, but that doesn’t take away from the excitement and honor of this nomination. This is a wonderful recognition of what we created together every week.”

Just months after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer and undergoing a double mastectomy, Christina Applegate is putting a brave face on things and claiming that she is not a victim.

“Yes, it’s hard. It sucks. But I’m not a victim,” the Samantha Who actress told America’s TV Guide.

Christina is set to undergo reconstructive surgery later this month.

Christina Applegate has returned to the set of her US TV show, Samantha Who.

The actress has returned to work after a double mastectomy in July to treat breast cancer.

Thankfully the doctors seem to have caught Christina’s cancer on time, she said:

She said: “I’m clear. Absolutely 100 per cent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I’m definitely not going to die from breast cancer.”

Christina will undergo reconstructive surgery on her chest over the next few months and is looking forward to regaining her womanly shape. Read more & comment »
