NBC have ordered an extra six episodes for Chuck’s season 3.

The network had already ordered 13 episodes of the new season. The Wrap report that this number has been increased to 19 this month.

Industry insiders believe that the show will return before March and to it’s old 8 p.m. Monday timeslot.

What’s with the Chuck/Superman fixation? Just weeks after it was announced that ‘Superman’ Brandon Routh would be joining the cast of Chuck, it is revealed that Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk will be on board for the upcoming season too.

EW.com reports that Kreuck will play Hannah, a girl Chuck meets on a flight to Paris.

“Chuck and Hannah definitely have feelings for each other,” teased an insider.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman! Former man of steel Brandon Routh is reportedly joining the cast Chuck for a number of episodes next season.

Routh’s character, Shaw, is a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah. He first appears in this season’s fourth episode

Chuck fans are in for a real treat later this month as it hits our screen in a brand new 3D format.

The episode features Lost star Dominic Monaghan who asks Chuck to protect him from a mystery assassin.

“It’s really cool,” Zachary Levi (aka Chuck) told What’s On TV. “We were all beside ourselves when we heard because it’s the first episode of TV ever to be broadcast in 3D so we are pioneers; it’s pretty groundbreaking.”

All that campaigning has paid off and it looks like fans and cast of the American comedy, Chuck have convinced NBC to give it another go.

The show faced cancellation this year due to falling ratings but the US TV network have this week, placed an order for a thirteen episode third season.

The return came after what are said to have been fierce negotiations between NBC and Warner Bros TV, over cost cutting on the show’s production costs.

Quantam Leap actor, Scott Bakula is joining the cast of American TV show Chuck as Chuck’s dad.

Also guest starring on the new series will be Chevy Chase, who will appear for a three episode arc.

Chuck’s dad will be eccentric, paranoid and found living a less than privileged life in a trailer. The episodes are due to air in April this year.

Actress Jordana Brewster is to join the cast of US TV show, Chuck. Brewster has previously appeared in The Fast and The Furious and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.

According to TV Guide’s Mike Ausiello, Brewster will be playing the infamous Jill – the woman who broke Chuck’s heart during his college years.

Josh Schwartz, executive producer of the show, explains that Jill is the “mythic college girlfriend who broke Chuck’s heart, slept with his best friend Bryce Larkin, and is basically responsible for setting his life crashing off course and landing him at the Nerd Herd. He always has imagined seeing her again, and being able to impress her with all he’s accomplished. Unfortunately, when he does meet her, he’s doing a computer install and she’s a brilliant, successful, beautiful doctor working to create antibodies to horrible diseases.” Read more & comment »
