This is the moment when Tony Gordon admits to police that he murdered Liam Connor last year. He walks from the canal bank to admit to police that he murdered Liam and pushed Roy into the canal.

In the dramatic scenes, his fiancee Maria Connor storms into the police station shouting and demanding an explanation for why he did it.

Ohhh tonight’s installment is a Corrie episode not to be missed!

On Monday at 7:30pm, Tony’s a desperate man and as he frantically tries to cling on to the new life he’s created, he packs Maria off to a health spa for the day, knowing the police are about to come calling.

Keeping up the façade, Tony goes to work but when the police arrive and arrest him on suspicion of Liam’s murder, he can feel his world falling apart. Down at the station Tony’s interviewed about the Croppers allegations, and as the police pile on the pressure, saying they’ll speak to Maria, will Tony crumble and confess to murder?

Meanwhile, Roy and Hayley return to the café and are relieved to hear that Tony’s been arrested and taken to the police station. But as gossip about Tony’s arrest spreads, Maria arrives back on the street. Is she about to discover the awful truth about Tony? Read more & comment »

Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine has admitted that this year’s Christmas episodes will be very dramatic.

Jennie plays Fiz on the show and is currently filming the festive scenes. She told RTE:

“What can I say? It is dramatic, really dramatic, but I think it’s going to be really, really traditional Corrie, in that there’s real high drama over the Christmas, but then real farcical comedy as well. Christmas Eve is very funny.”

Katherine Kelly has credited Coronation Street’s Roy and Hayley Cropper, for the success of her character on the soap.

Kelly told ATV news network: “The Croppers were the making of Becky, and without them I actually don’t think Becky would still be in the show. The Croppers, especially Roy, were the thing that really turned public opinion [about Becky] around to being positive.

Ryan’s appalled to discover Michelle’s spent the night with Jake. Embarrassed, Michelle ushers Jake out of the flat. Dev meanwhile refuses to pay Jake’s bill for the roof repairs, claiming it’s too steep. In retaliation, Jake removes a section of roof tiles from the cornershop. King told the Daily Record: “Carla is probably not a woman you would want to do business with and definitely not somebody you would want to cross. But I think people admire her, especially women. She doesn’t take any bulls**t and speaks her mind.

Antony Cotton has admitted that hopes to stay on Coronation Street for years to come and has no plans to leave the show.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, he explained: “I have no intention of leaving Coronation Street. I am very happy to be there, and as long as they are happy to have me then I don’t see any reason why I would want to leave.

“We are in very uncharted waters at the moment in all areas of business, so certainly now would not be the time to walk away from a very successful television show – nor do I have any want or need to at the moment.”

Coronation Street star Gray O’Brien, has praised how the crew handled Tony’s heart attack scenes and promised that they will look realistic.

O’Brien told PA that to make the heart attack look real, he first researched the sbject horoughly.

He commented: “There’s always a danger that we’ll do something that will look a bit comedic. It’s a difficult thing to play when you don’t understand. I think we’ve got away with it very nicely, the way we’ve shot it.”

Sophie Webster’s boyfriend Ben is staying with Michelle whilst his parents are on holiday when the incident occurs. He finds her crying over her brother Liams death and moves in to comfort her.
