ABC’s new TV show Cougar Town, stars Courtney Cox as 40 something divorcee trying to find her way back onto the dating scene and opting for the younger guys.

In a press release announcing its autumn lineup, ABC says the comedy will show the former “Friends” star’s character exploring “the honest truths about dating and aging in our beauty and youth obsessed culture.”

Courtney Cox has signed on to play the role of a mother with a 17-year-old son in new American drama, ‘Cougar Town’.

For those of you not down with the kids, ‘Cougar’ is slang for a woman on the prowl for a toyboy.

The show will be written by Scrubs duo Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel and it isn’t surprising that they chose Cox for the role after her recent appearance on the medical comedy.

Former Friends star Courtney Cox has revealed that she intends to try IVF again in order to conceive.

Courtney had IVF treatment before conceiving her now foru year old daughter, Coco and now wants to give her daughter a brother or sister.

“I’d like to have another child and I’ll probably do IVF again, even though it’s hard. Maybe if it doesn’t work I’ll adopt,” she told Metro.

Former Friends star, Courtney Cox is to join the cast of Scrubs according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cox will appear in three episodea as Sacred Heart’s new Chief of Medicine and her character will “ruffle feathers”.

Her own show, Dirt, has been cancelled by network bosses at FX.

With the second series currently running in the UK, I’ve just found out that Dirt has been cancelled.

I actually tried watching a couple of episodes and really couldn’t get into the show at all. Part of it was Courtney Cox - I just can’t warm to her as an actress. The other part was the celebrity magazine underworld - the lengths they’d go to to get a story - can you imagine if Heat magazine was run this way? With Dirt, I did come away feeling slightly dirty. Former Friends star, Courtney Cox, has revealed that some familiar faces will rear their head in series two of the hit drama.

“We usually do a hybrid of celebrities and then add to the story, like maybe what happened to cause this to happen to them, or sum it up in a different way just for fun,” Courteney, who is also the executive producer of the show, explained to the New York Daily News.

The second series of Courtney Cox’s Drama, Dirt has been cut short due to the current US writers strike.

US TV network FX have revealed that only seven of the series thirteen episodes had been written before the writers strike commenced, but it plans to air all seven this March, regardless.

I Know What You Did Last Summer star, David Arquette is said to have issued an ultimatum to his wife Courtney Cox, telling her to choose between him and her best friend Jennifer Aniston.

Courtney Cox has revealed that she would love her ‘Friends’ to make an appearance on her new TV show, Dirt.

Jennifer Aniston, who starred in Friends along with Cox, appeared on Dirt last year. Cox recently remarked:

Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow are welcome to appear on the show too.

“If it was the right point, I’d love to have any of them on the show. I don’t know how they would feel about it so I’d have to ask as things came up.”

Oh, the dirty world of celebrity gossip! Or should that be drrty world?

I’ll confess to having a cursory look at tonight’s episode of Dirt, out of curiosity more than anything else. I was blogging at the same time, so I wasn’t paying full attention, but the gist of the storyline was as follows:

• Courtney Cox’s character heads up this sleazy celeb magazine, looking for the scoop on various celebrities.
• Tonight’s celebrity scoop was a pregnant celebrity who they discovered wasn’t actually pregnant - the couple were using a surrogate to prevent nasty stretch marks and stuff like that.
• Cox’s character seemed to be masturbating in just about every other scene, for whatever reason. In between suffocating some needy rock star between her thighs. Wonder what was he doing down there anyway
• She ropes in some photographer with severe mental problems who’s hallucinating a relationship with a dead celebrity and showing pictures of her to a bizarre cat shrine. I know somebody else like that….

I have to say, from the parts I saw, Cox’s character was truly horrible. Dirt is the operative word, because watching some of her techniques really made me feel dirty. You’ve got to wonder how much this mirrors the real life gossip columnists. It certainly blows away the image that the Heat magazine staffers try to present!
