The hit Las Vegas-based crime drama returns to Five for its ninth season this January. In the opening episode, the team rallies together when Warrick is shot in an alleyway. Suspicion immediately falls on the police officer who tried to frame the CSI for murder, before evidence emerges that another corrupt cop could be at large.

Rumer Willis, Chris Daughtry and Scott Wolf are lined up to appear on CSI: NY’s 100th episode.

Rumer will be playing the victim of a stalker, while Chris surprisingly enough plays a musician.

“Rumer was a delight,” the show’s executive producer Pam Veasey told TV Guide. “She was excited to be part of our episode and was quite the professional.”

Chris loved every minute of his first acting role.

Laurence Fishburne is in talks to succeed William Petersen as the star of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS’s search for Petersons replacement has been very secretive so far but sources report that Fishburne is being heavily courted to play the new character. His character has been described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn’t previously acted on any homicidal impulses.

Fishburne is famous for having starred in blockbuster movie hits such as The Matrix, Mission Impossible 3 and The Rise Of The Silver Surfer.

Producers of CSI Miami have cast Megalyn Echikunwoke as a new coroner for the show, after Khandi Alexander left the show last season.

Echikunwoke will play a medical examiner who hits it off right from the beginning with David Caruso’s Horatio Caine and his forensic team.

Echikunwoke previously appeared on The 4400’s and the first season of 24.

William Peterson will be leaving CSI according to Entertainment Weekly.

William has played Gil Gissom since the show began but will be leaving after the 10th episode of the new series.

“Billy is leaving,” confirms the show’s executive producer, Carol Mendelsohn. “But he will remain throughout the run of the series an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back. I don’t think you’ve seen the last of Gil Grissom.” Read more & comment »

Actress, Elizabeth Berkley, is joining the cast of CSI Miami in a recurring role.

Berkley will play Julia Winston - former wife of Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and the mother of his recently discovered teenage son, Kyle (Evan Ellingson). She has previously guest starred in the 2003 TV series, Crime Scene Investigation, which spawned CSI - Miami.
