Doctor Who star Matt Smith has fuelled rumours that he is once again dating model Daisy Lowe after the pair were spotted backstage at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend festival looking very close!

Daisy and Matt officially ended their relationship last November, however, ever since there have been rumblings in the press that they could be back together after they were photographed on a night out and in one instance, when it seemed they’d spent the night together in London.

However, of the latest turn of the rumour mill, the Sun’s photographer captured pictures of Matt “squeezing Daisy’s bum” and of the pair cuddling up to each other.

One onlooker told the paper, “Matt was trying to disguise himself by wearing his hood up as he hobnobbed backstage.

When it was announced earlier this week that Karen Gillan’s run as Doctor Who’s sidekick Amy Pond was to end in a “heartbreaking” manner, fans of the show took to internet forums in droves to complain.

It’s also been reported that Matt Smith’s ex, Daisy Lowe, is a hot favourite to be cast as the Doctor’s new assistant, which fans don’t seem too keen on either.

The Sun reports that one fan tweeted, “I can cope with a lot of things but Amy Pond leaving Doctor Who could push me over the edge.”

Another wrote, “If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of a million hearts breaking in unison.”

And yet another commented, “I know Doctor Who is all about regeneration but still this is heartbreaking.”

It’s been reported today that Doctor Who star Matt Smith has split from model Daisy Lowe, who he’s been dating for 18 months.

The Sun states that the couple have simply grown apart since their conflicting and busy work schedules have meant that they’ve barely seen each other of late.

Friends of the couple say they’re both “devastated” at the split, but they apparently intend to remain friends. Nobody else is thought to be involved in their break up.

Friends of the Doctor Who actor reportedly told Now magazine that the star planned to buy Daisy an engagement ring for her 22nd birthday, but didn’t in the end, in case it freaked her out.

The couple had been thought to be smitten with each other, and friends believed there was something “real” between the pair after they hit it off as soon as they were introduced to each other.
