A social network campaign has seen over 1,000 people backing its mission to get Dame Judi Dench cast in the epic ITV period drama, Downton Abbey!
Dame Judi Dench, who is best known for her roles as ‘M’ in the blockbuster James Bond Films Golden Eye and more recently Skyfall, has received many award nominations for her acting in theatre, film and television; her awards include eleven BAFTAs, (including the Bafta Fellowship in 2001) seven Laurence Olivier Awards, (including the Society’s Special Award) two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award.

Dame Judi Dench has joined the campaign to ban testing on animals, citing the practice as “cruel and unnecessary.”
It’s expected that The European Union (E.U.) will introduce legislation that outlaws the sale of products tested on laboratory animals in 2013, but it seems the ban could now be delayed a further ten years.
Many stars are backing the ban, including Ricky Gervais, Melanie Chisholm and Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter Mary.
In an interview published in New magazine, Dame Judi said, “Using animals to test cosmetics is cruel and should be stopped.
