Ever since the allegations about Sir Jimmy Savile began flooding in following ITV’s Exposure documentary – a follow up to which is on the channel tomorrow night – hundreds of people have come forward to allege that they were abused by the late TV presenter.
And of course, in the wake of the scandal, Scotland Yard have launched an inquiry into the allegations against Savile and “others” and the BBC is conducting its own inquiry into claims that some victims were abused on their premises.
Several high profile celebrities have been arrested in connection with the inquiry, and yet more have come forward to say that Savile’s reputation for being an “sexual predator” were well known.

As we reported yesterday, ITV promised to launch an investigation into what’s been branded as the “blindsiding” of PM David Cameron during a recent appearance on This Morning which saw co-host Phillip Schofield handing him what’s now been dubbed, a “paedo list.”
Handing the Prime Minister a piece of card that bore the names of senior government officials who have been accused online of child sex abuse, Schofield said he’d found the names following an internet search that took mere “minutes”.
And as Phillip asked the nonplussed PM if he was going to take any form of action against those accused online, Cameron responded that it would be improper to address such allegations without having full knowledge of exactly who was accused of what.
He also cautioned against provoking a “witch hunt” in the wake of the allegations made over DJ Sir Jimmy Savile and “others” who’ve allegedly been named in documents the police have in relation to Operation Yewtree… Read more & comment »

Fans of This Morning will no doubt recall that co-host Phillip Schofield blindsided PM David Cameron by handing him a list of the names of past and present government officials who are alleged to have been involved in child sex scandals…
The incident caused outrage after the show in question, during which Schofield told the PM that he’d found the names – which were on a piece of card – “within minutes” of searching the internet.
At the time, Cameron refused to comment as to whether he would investigate the allegations and said only that such things had to be treated “carefully” for fear of wrongly accusing a person or persons.
Apparently, dozens of viewers complained about the incident – in which some said they were able to decipher the names on the list – and as a result, ITV launched an inquiry. Today, the broadcaster has promised that there will be “appropriate disciplinary action” taken over the event… Read more & comment »

This Morning viewers were taken aback yesterday when, while interviewing PM David Cameron, the show’s co-host Phillip Schofield handed the leader of the Tory party a list which contained the names of MPs who are alleged to have been involved in paedophilic activity…
Saying that he’d found the names after searching the internet for only a matter of “minutes” Phillip inadvertently flashed the names on the card to the camera before Mr Cameron took possession of it, warning, “I’ve heard all sorts of names being bandied around…
“And what then tends to happen is, of course, everyone sits around and speculates about people. Some of whom are alive, some of whom are dead.”
He added, “I do think it’s very important that anyone who’s got any information about any paedophile no matter how high up in the country or whether they are alive or dead, go to the police… Read more & comment »

The Sun newspaper has today launched a campaign to have the late Jimmy Savile stripped of his knighthood following reports that he abused children.
Sir Jimmy (as he is still known for now) was a pinnacle public figure in the 60′s, 70′s and 90′s, who, it is now suggested, used his tireless charity campaigns to cloak a disgusting obsession with young teenage girls.
