According to The Sun this morning, Corrie’s David Platt is in for a right royal beating and will be “bludgeoned in a back alley and left bleeding and unconscious later this summer.”

But whodunit? Well, not unreasonably, Street insiders are keeping schtum about that but in Who Killed JR style, they’ve lined up several suspects.

Of course, David has a list of enemies as long as yer arm chuck but in the run up to the attack, we’ll see Jason threatening David saying, “Maybe I should teach you a lesson you’ll never forget” because he’s been harassing Tina. Also, Joe will be seen quietly seething in his van because Gail’s thrown him out after encouragement from David and Gary Windass’s uncle Len is out for revenge after David got Gary banged up. When psycho David Platt discovers that his ex-girlfriend Tina is in a relationship with his ex-brother in law Jason, it finally pushes the troublesome hairdresser over the edge and he pelts his rival with bricks and anything else he can get his hands on.

In coming weeks, all the tension leading up to the court case between David Platt and Gary Windass is enough to force David and Tina apart. So she ends up moving on to a new boyfriend and after Jason had his heart broken by Becky and Steve he’s only too happy to move on in the arms of Tina McIntyre.

The ITV1 insider told The Sun: “Jason’s still heartbroken after Becky broke off their engagement, so he and Tina are a shoulder for each other to cry on.

“David is devastated. But it’s not long before it turns to fury.”
