Next Wednesday on BBC Two, Davina McCall makes some intriguing and shocking discoveries as she delves into her family’s past. As a child of divorced parents, Davina, who is half-French, was brought up by her paternal grandmother in England and knows very little about her maternal French heritage. She also wants to find out if there is any truth behind the story that has been passed down for generations, claiming that the English side of her family is descended illegitimately from royal blood.
Davina’s grandmother reveals that she believes Davina’s great great, great, great-grandfather, James Thomas Bedborough, is the illegitimate son of George IV. The trail does indeed lead to Windsor but not quite in the way Davina expected.

Davina McCall has admitted that she wouldn’t be tempted to replace Fern Britton on This Morning, saying they wouldn’t pay her enough to make it worth it.
Speaking to Heat magazine, the Big Brother presenter said: ‘Would I do it? It’s an enormous commitment and probably not enough money for me to spend that much time away from my kids.’
She cheekily added: ‘Although the opportunity to work with the silver fox that is Pip Schofield is quite tempting.’

It seems that Davina McCall doesn’t ever learn her lesson and even after her chat show ‘Davina’ flopped back in 2006, she is still going ahead and making a new one.
McCall’s new show will not focus on celebrities, looking instead to normal people, Jeremy Kyle style. She prefers to see herself more as an Oprah figure though and told The Sun:
“I’m not Oprah, but it’s that kind of thing.

Big Brother host Davina McCall is to make a sensational cameo appearance in forthcoming E4 horror series Dead Set.
The five-part zombie thriller is set in a fictional Big Brother house which is increasingly under threat from the blood thirsty masses. Davina plays herself as the horrific events unfold during an eviction night. Viewers will be shocked to see Davina meet a very grisly end. But her appearance doesn’t end there…
Dead Set is written by acclaimed writer Charlie Brooker, who is well known for his columns in The Guardian and his BBC Four series Charlie Brooker’s Screen Wipe.

BBC Radio Two received 156 complaints after Davina McCall took over Ken Bruce’s morning radio show this week.
Listeners criticised Davina’s “inane chatter” and “cringe-worthy” style on the BBC messageboards.
“Davina has a chatty style of presentation and we feel this is in keeping with fellow Radio 2 presenters, such as Chris Evans and Dermot O’Leary,” a BBC statement said.
“The Ken Bruce show reaches a broad audience of over six million listeners.
“While we appreciate that Davina’s style is different to Ken’s, we are also getting a positive reaction from some Radio 2 listeners who are really enjoying the show.”
All this just proves what I have been thinking for the last year. Without Big Brother, Davina is nothing. Every other show she has turned her hand to, (remember her awful chat show and then the one with the boring dads to be) flopped in the ratings and now it seems she isn’t much cop at radio either.
Big Brother shouldn’t have another year left in it, but even if Channel 4 do trail it out for two or three more series, what will Davina do after that? I hope she has been saving hard as things are looking bleak for the future of Ms McCall!
