It’s The Banker’s favourite time of year – Halloween is where he gets to inflict even more pain and suffering on the poor, unsuspecting contestants. And this year, he is not alone – it seems the Dream Factory has been possessed by the evil spirits of his miserly ancestors. Combining incredible costumes and makeup with state-of-the-art visual effects and breathtaking set design, the Dream Factory has been utterly transformed into a truly sinister world somewhere just beyond our own.

It’s the Banker’s Birthday once again and the man with the money is celebrating in style this year with the biggest makeover in Deal or No Deal history. For a week long spectacular, the Dream Factory has been transformed into a children’s birthday party for a whole lot of clowning around. The contestants have been made up as never before, dressed in hilarious clown outfits and mega-makeup to match. Keeping order is Noel, cracking the whip as a circus ringmaster complete with top-hat and tails.
In a colourful setting of over-sized cream cakes, jellies and ice creams, the players pit their wits against a Banker who’s in the mood to party, but that means winning at all costs and he’s not in the mood for any funny business. In the corner of the Dream Factory lie four sinister, over-sized clown heads. As each of these special shows approaches its climax, the dastardly Banker can use the massive mugs to gain the opportunity to peek inside one, two or even three of the remaining boxes to gain a massive tactical advantage. This could either mean the party’s well and truly over for the contestants or it could see them laughing all the way to the bank with a huge birthday bonanza!
The entire week promises some truly thrilling games. Will the Banker end up crying at his own party or will he get his birthday wish – to delight in the tears of the defeated clowns?
Airing from 11th – 15th May on Channel 4 at 4:15pm

Why oh why does anyone actually like or watch this show? Me? I can’t stand it. Why? Because it’s been on since God was a lad and they may as well have recorded just one show that they then did the graphics/telly magic equivalent of photoshopping on other faces… in other words, it barely changes – nothing new happens except there are different contestants. Mind you, I think some of the contestants have in fact been there waiting their turn since time began.
Indeed, some of them, I suspect, have in fact fossilised.
The lady in the clip that follows, Mary, was probably about 12 when she first joined the panel of hopefuls, but the really funny bit about her time on in the ‘crazy chair’ as Noel calls it, was that the poor old dear – and she is a very sweet lady – had no clue that she’d won for a few seconds and I have to admit, loathe though I am to admit it, it brought a tear to my eye when she realised what amount she’d won… Click on the Read More link to see the clip… Read more & comment »

An anonymous Deal Or No Deal viewer has donated an incredible £10,000 to a children’s hospital after being moved by inspirational contestant Olga Orlandini-Field’s unlucky game.
Fundraiser Olga, 32 had hoped to use her winnings to add to the £30,000 she has already raised for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Williams Syndrome Foundation after she lost her son Gianluca to the condition in 2005, but a disastrous game meant she took home just £5.
The donor was so moved by her story that they telephoned Birmingham Children’s Hospital and offered the money, stipulating that Olga must choose how the money would be spent. Read more & comment »

Peter Law, age 38 from Lancashire broke his back in a motorbike accident in 2006. He was told that he would spend 18 months in hospital and never walk again. However, 3½ months later Peter walked out of hospital on crutches.
Peter will appear this evening on Channel 4’s Deal Or No Deal.
He used his crutches for the duration of his stay on the show, however for his own game, Peter wanted to take the ‘walk of wealth’ unaided which proved to be a highly emotional and inspirational moment. His walk to the crazy chair was officially the first time he had walked in front of people since his accident and was such an achievement considering the prognosis he had originally been given.
