What did you think when you first discovered the storyline leaps forward five years at the start of season five?
Golden Globe nominee and two-time ALMA Award-winning actress Eva Longoria Parker stars as Gabrielle Solis on the hit ABC show Desperate Housewives. However, this isn’t the talented actress’ first appearance on television. After landing roles on The Bold And The Beautiful, General Hospital and Beverly Hills, 90210, she went on to win the role of Isabella on the US soap opera The Young And The Restless. Longoria Parker is also no stranger to the big screen with leading roles in movies such as The Sentinel – opposite Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland and Kim Basinger – and Over My Dead Body, with Paul Rudd and Jason Biggs.
Ohhh finally, some decent Desperate Housewives scoop! We already know that at the end of the upcoming season the HW will be hit by a plane crash on Wisteria Lane, there has even been talk that the plane would be one of the flights featured in LOST.
Bosses have so far remained tight lipped about which Housewives would be affected by the crash, however EW.com have released some juicy details today.
Marc Cherry has signed a new contract with US TV network. Variety reports that the executive producer will stay on board for the eighth and ninth season of the show.
An ABC spokesperson said that Cherry “has been such a special part of the network. For me it’s been an amazing collaboration. It’s wonderful to know that he’ll be around. The new stuff that he’s already working on is a huge priority for us”.

“It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season,” series creator Marc Cherry told EW.com, adding that it will “affect everyone’s lives.”

Kathryn Joosten has revealed that her character ‘Mrs McCluskey’ will get down and dirty on the new season of Desperate Housewives.

Desperate Housewives actress Kathryn Joosten has admitted that she is battling lung cancer for the second time..
The 69-year-old actress, who plays Mrs McCluskey in the hit American TV show, told People magazine that she recived her diagnosis one week ago.
“I’ve got a little hang-up here but we’re going to handle it and move forward. I’m doing great,” she said.
We reported earlier this summer that former Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo was joining the cast of Desperate Housewives as Angie Bolen and many fans have been predicting that she will act as a replacement for the outgoing Edie Britt (Nicolette Sheridan).
However series creator Marc Cherry says that this is not the case and rather than being a sex siren like Edie, Drea’s character will be a more mysterious one.
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has said that the show “has a lot of life left in it”. However after season seven Cherry plans to distance himself from the series somewhat.
He told The Wrap: “Steve McPherson (ABC Entertainment president) and I agree that we shouldn’t keep the show going for more than a couple years past my seven-year initial contract. We don’t want it to just fade away.
