Dexter to end after series 8, network confirms on Facebook!

After much speculation it has finally been confirmed that hit US drama series, Dexter, will come to a final conclusion at the end of the eighth series.

This announcement, which had been widely expected, was made on its network Facebook page, along with a new promo trailer from the final series. The 40-second clip features the names of all of Dexter Morgan’s victims, as well as innocents who have died as a result of his actions.

Oh no! Michael C Hall drama Dexter to end with season eight claims CBS exec!

There’s upsetting news from across the pond today as it’s been reported that the CEO of American TV network CBS has “let slip” that serial killer drama Dexter will come to an end with the conclusion of season eight.

Starring Michael C Hall as blood spatter analyst and serial killer Dexter, and Jennifer Carpenter as his detective sister Deb Morgan, season seven has just begun on FX UK, while season eight is currently in production.

However, The Hollywood Reporter claims that CBS CEO Les Moonves told attendees of a Wall Street conference in Florida that the show will end in June. Read more & comment »

Dexter season 7 spoilers: New behind the scenes video – Debra questions everything she thought she knew about her brother!

Showtime have released a new behind the scenes video ahead of the season premiere of Dexter later this month and it’s a good one!

The clip casts a light on the relationship between Debra and her serial killer brother Dexter, with of course the big change this series being that she now knows what he gets up to in his spare time.

Dexter spoilers: Michael C. Hall says it’s not certain that season 8 will be the last

The general consensus seems to be that Dexter will be drawing to an end after the next season, but the star of the show says fans shouldn’t get too despondent just yet.

Michael C. Hall is currently filming the seventh season of the hit serial killer drama, in which he is dealing with his sister Deb’s reaction to the fact that he is a cold blooded killer.

Showtime entertainment president David Nevins recently confirmed that bosses are working on the assumption that the eighth run will be the last and he told reporters:

Downton Abbey, Sherlock and Luther secure Emmy Nominations

In the announcement of the annual Primetime Emmy Award Nominations, there was good news for British shows as Downton Abbey, Sherlock and Luther all feature heavily.

Downton Abbey has 16 nominations as it features for the first time in the Drama Series category, there are also nods for cast members Hugh Boneville, Michelle Dockery, Maggie Smith, Joanne Froggatt, Brendan Coyle and Jim Carter as well as creator Julian Fellowes who is nominated for Best Dramatic Writer.

Sherlock’s Scandal in Belgravia episode features in the mini-series category, and has 13 nominations including recognition for both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Sherlock faces competition from Luther while its Lead Actor Idris Elba is up against Cumberatch in the Best Actor in a Mini-Series award. Read more & comment »

Dexter season 7 spoilers: New promo clip – How will Debra cope with her brother the serial killer?

Dexter is heading to Comic Con next month and we will be treated to the first two minutes of the season seven premiere at the event, but until then fans will have to content themselves with this new promo.

In the video – just released by US TV network Showtime – we are shown images of both Debs and Dexter and attention is drawn to the question over how the homicide detective will react, after discovering the fact that her brother is a murderer.
