ITV have commissioned a number of really great dramas that will be shown in the New Year. There are some old favourites as well as some brand new ones and I was chuffed to see that Trial and Retribution is back on ITV1 on January 9th at 9pm
trial and retribution
After 10 years of crime fighting, straight talking DCS Mike Walker, DCI Roisin Conner and DS David Satchell return to solve three horrific cases that are set to push the team to its very limits.
Dexter actress Jennifer Carpenter says that she finds her serial killer on screen brother much scarier than the bloodthirsty murderers she has to face in new horror film Quarantine.
“I guess I’d have to say Dexter because he puts up this front of being normal,” MSN quote Jennifer, who plays Dexter’s sister Debra Morgan as saying.
“He does it very well and because he does it so well and I meet so many people on a day-to-day basis that appear to be normal, you always wonder what’s going on at home for them. It makes you think twice about honking at someone who’s sitting at a green light because god only knows what’s going on in their brains!”
Contact Music has reported that, actor Jimmy Smits, stabbed a stuntman with a real knife on the set of Dexter. The stunt was supposed to be performed with a prop knife, but for the last take, Smit picked up a real knife by mistake. Fortunately for the stuntman, he was wearing a piece of acrylic clear plastic over his heart, and Smits hit him at the edge of that plastic piece and the stuntman was unscathed.
“For the scene, I was bound in Saran Wrap, duct tape over my mouth,” Chase said. “I couldn’t say a thing as I saw Jimmy grab at the knife. He picked up the real one by pure mistake. It was a mean looking knife.” Read more & comment »
Dexter star, Michael C. Hall is reportedly dating his on screen sister Jennifer Carpenter.
The National Enquirer has reported that the recently divorced Hall has taken up with Carpenter, despite disapproval from the show bosses.
The paper also claimed that the two have been dating for almost a year, and even moved in together after Hall separated from his wife Amy Spangler.
A source says, “For months they tried to keep the romance a secret by going to out-of-the-way places and avoiding each other on the set. They still refuse to acknowledge they’re in a relationship, but everyone on the set knows they’re together.”
This is kind of like Doctor Who dating his daughter. It all feels a little bit wrong to me!!!
ITV haven’t long finished with Season One and FX is currently airing Season two, but this autumn America gets to watch season three of our favourite serial killer show.
This season it seems as though Dexter moves on from killing hard ass criminals and for the first time kills spontaneously.
Dexter’s world is shaken tonight when he is called to the crime scene of a massacre unlike any that he’s ever seen before… or so he thinks, until a series of memories comes streaming back that shock him to his core. Expect gore, gore and more gore!
Meanwhile, Rita has to hire a lawyer when Paul brings a surprising case against her to take sole custody of their children. Read more & comment »
Dexter receives a registered letter that informs him that his biological father has recently died. This comes as a shock, because Harry, Dexter’s adoptive father, had told Dexter that his real father had died over 30 years ago.
As Dexter takes off to reconnect to his shadowy past, Rita decides to come along to help him make it through the weekend. Then Debra and Rudy join them for the weekend at the dead bio-dad’s house and things become even more awkward. Read more & comment »
Dexter’s past comes to life when body parts begin appearing throughout Miami, gifts from the Ice Truck Killer. The horrific tableaux created in places of Dexter’s childhood memories start to make Dexter question his own past and his reasons for controlling his dark urges.
Meanwhile, LaGuerta’s hunt for Tony Tucci has to go in a different direction when new information comes to light about Tucci and his connection to the Ice Truck Killer. Read more & comment »
ITV’s new serial killer drama, Dexter, is to be made into a video game.
The show which premiered on ITV1 last Wednesday, centres on Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who targets other killers.
Marc Fernandez of Marc Ecko Entertainment which is developing the game with Showtime Networks, said: “Our game-designers, writers and artists are going to give Dexter’s morally complex world the kind of interactivity that gamers will love.”
Dexter is stalking his next victim, a drunk driver about to be acquitted for the murder of a teenage boy. But when a fellow cop is found murdered, Dexter has to put that on hold to help Homicide Detectives
Batista and Doakes investigate a crime boss suspected of the murder. It gets even more personal when the crime boss also orders a hit on the wife of the murdered cop.
Meanwhile, the hooker-hunting Ice Truck Killer strikes again and leaves a macabre piece of evidence that Debra finds, gaining her the transfer she wanted out of Vice and into Homicide.
There was a chill of excitement tonight as Dexter Morgan uttered the first words in ITV/Showtime’s new series: “Tonight’s the night…”
You first see Dexter in silhouette as he drives through the streets of Miami. He next appears in the back seat of a businessman’s car and promptly wraps some string around the man’s neck. He directs him to a secluded place which has a series of shallow graves outside it.
He takes the man into the building where three badly decayed corpses are laid out. Dexter’s hostage is a serial killer who has killed a number of small boys. And now Dexter is about to exact his own brand of justice. In a short while, the man is naked and tied to a table with cling-film.
Dexter nicks the man’s face with a scalpel – his signature move (pay attention folks) – before cutting him up with his handy power tools.
The Miami police department and crime scene analysts have launched a citywide manhunt but are literally without a clue. They would be surprised to learn that there is not one, but two killers stalking their city’s neon pastel streets and even more surprised to learn that one of them walks in their halls every day.
Meet Dexter Morgan, an extremely likable and charming forensics consultant for Miami PD. He regularly brings doughnuts to his co-workers, has a compulsion for neatness, and wiles away Sundays relaxing on his boat, the “Slice of Life”. But hiding beneath the mundane exterior hides a different Dexter, a dark and dangerous Dexter, one with an insatiable desire to kill. Read more & comment »
